What may be (began as) the optimal outdoor coating for furniture
Great product! Used it for a customer to seal two Adirondack chairs with leg rests and while it goes on white, looks like watery milk and smells faintly of a certain white liquid non-toxic glue we all used in grade school, this stuff brought these chairs back to life! They were UV damaged and had a grayish cast to them before and then, five minutes later, the polymer works its charms on mahogany or teak (not sure which) and they looked like new chairs again. I brushed on with a polyester brush and had intended to use an airless sprayer, but will probably return that as the application went quickly. Add to that benefit that it's non-toxic and food safe. What's not to like?Update:. 02-05-19. Not so optimal as something went wrong. I was generous with the amount of product applied, and the chairs have weathered badly in less than a year. They have turned gray again as they were before and I see no trace of protection. This may be fine indoors but outdoors, I cannot recommend it.

This is the best and most economical wood sealer that I have found
This is the best and most economical wood sealer that I have found. Goes on easily and dries fast. Really thin product so that it will soak into the wood rather than put a coating onto the surface of the wood. I have used it on several outdoor projects (flower boxes, planters, etc) and the water beads up on the wood. A gallon goes a long ways. I have used this on 4 large flower boxes, 2 planters, and in several other areas and I still have 1/2 the gallon left. I will buy again when needed.

I love the environmental aspects
I love the environmental aspects. It is a good seal for seal purposes however, it is very sticky. Months later, after two original coats, I cannot leave items on the furniture for too long (days) else they stick to the furniture. When I rip the items off/up, the seal comes with it.

It was a "Winner-winner!!" but not anymore.
Absolutely great product!! I have observed the treated lumber turning an attractive golden color after being in the sun; it looks fantastic! I know that this product will add life to my project in which I have invested much time and money. Lumber-Seal is one of the best "secrets" about which the masses don't know. I am glad that I found it and that previous users posted favorable reviews that prompted me to try it. I have applied twelve gallons thus far on a single large project.Three year Update: I don't like this so much. The surfaces, especially horizontal, that have been exposed to the elements, foot traffic and snow shoveling are completely barren of any sealant and look old, cracked and gray. Vertical posts and spindles still show evidence of having been coated. I will be treating the deck boards and railing with Pittsburgh paint Revitalize product this year. Lumber Seal may have a place somewhere in the marketplace for an application where it is best suited but decking is not it. It is good that new treated lumber can be protected with this before being secured in place but one should not count on it lasting very long and plan to go over it with another product after the six month "curing/drying" time of the lumber. In any event the underneath and ends were sealed too and that probably was beneficial to the life of the deck. Still, when you spend hundreds of $$ on a coating you don't expect to have to spend hundreds more quite so soon.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! SUPER EASY TO USE!
We needed to stain two Adirondack chair with Ottomans. This product is almost mistake proof! Super easy to use! We bought this because it's non-toxic and no VOCs. If I'm going to be sitting on it, I don't want to be sitting (and sweating) on a toxic mess of chemicals. We have dogs and I wanted to make sure that IF they decided to chew on the chairs, it would not poison them. It goes on super easy. It's like painting with soapy water. It dries super quickly (less than an hour) and the 2nd coat went on easy as well. Didn't have to wait for one coat to dry completely before putting on the second. The only issue we had is that you have to keep an eye out for drips through to the other side of the wood. If you keep checking back and painting the drips out, you'll have no problems. Another cool thing is that it is water clean up. Satin finish is gorgeous too. A little goes a long way.

Does NOT do what it claims to do!
Purchased this for an enclosed patio, which was finished in late July 2016. The product went on easily, dries quickly, cleans up well and looked nice once finished. Fast forward about 5 months and with some early winter rain, several areas of the enclosure started to turn dark - almost black in spots. Other areas don't appear to be holding up when moisture hits it, revealing an almost milky white quality, not unlike the look of it going on wet. A real concern, especially as the water is most certainly not beading up like the picture on the cover of the can.The product's website makes this claim:>> Waterproof, stabilize and maintain original color with the next generation of VOC free and non-toxic eco coating. Lumber-Seal works indoors and outdoors and is a great multipurpose water proofer and sealer for new construction, fencing, wood sidings, shingle sidings, posts and more. Protects against rain, sun, mildew, decay and pests. <<I have some serious concerns about this product as it's barely into it's first six months and already 1/4 of my project looks bad. It most definitely does not repel water and the color variation is truly terrible now, with many areas blotchy and ugly. What looked golden and glowing in August looks like crap no less than five months later. I now need to figure out how much of this Redwood I might need to replace in order to get things looking even throughout. Very frustrated by a product that claimed to maintain the integrity of the gorgeous lumber I chose, only to do the exact opposite and make it look hideous. What looked to be a happy, fulfilling, completed project has now become a money sucking, time sucking nightmare. Buyer beware!
