Nostalgic Doll Line
I like many others buying these, was disappointed in the assortment of Incredibles merchandise from the first movie. This time around, the choices are vast and of better quality, particularly this line of 1/6 scale dolls. You can call them "action figures", but I see that they are more doll than figure. Violet stands up to the rest in this line, just beautifully. They have made a great call in giving the character deep set plastic eyes, because they look wonderful and no matter how you turn the doll, the eyes creepily follow you. Reminds me of the old creepy movie Dolls. The poseability is basic, but effective. Parents and collectors who will remove the figure should enjoy the decent poseability. Violet and Elastigirl have the best out of the bunch. As far as the costume is concerned, I love the look, it does lend itself open to some customization where the boots and gloves are concerned. Some have voiced concern over the pleather fabric, because it creases, crumbles, and flakes over time. Using a tiny bit of coconut oil every couple of years will offer up the preventative maintenance needed to get a good long life out of it. The alternative to that is to leave the figure in the package. Which is what I plan to do, seeing as how I have the six inch scale figures from the first movie line Disney Store Exclusive run, to enjoy all over again out of nostalgia. These dolls will hold more nostalgia IN the package 15 years from now. Maybe we'll all be lucky to be discussing the next wave of Incredibles Toys for the next iteration of movies THEN. A live action nostalgia movie, perhaps?

Violet looks like a knock off
Disappointed for my son this Christmas morning..... he noticed the discolour of her incredibles sign on her costume, I attached a picture of both violet and her mom to show the difference. It is completely orange no yellow or white for the dot. Also one of her legs was also glued stiff. I had to take off her clothes which is very hard and use a knife to try and make the seems come a little loose to move instead of just breaking off. If I had to guess, it reminds me of a knock off. And I bought the whole set for him so I have them to compare to. Love the dolls, but this one doll is not cool. The masks donβt fit either.

This is adorable, BUT...
Whatever you do, don't let your kids take the clothes off. Somehow, on Christmas day, poor Violet suffered a broken arm It fell off. My kids are really good with toys and they have had other 12 inch dolls for YEARS and never broke anything. (strike one for broken arm. strike two for the fact it was the first day they played with it!) Anyway, to get the arm back on, they took off the outfit. The arm went back on- and has stayed on for a couple days so far, but it took me a GOOD 30-40 minutes with a chopstick to get the outfit turned back inside-in and out side out and to coax it on the doll. I threatened them with mayhem should the doll lose her clothes again.

adorable doll, but came with a manufacturing defect
I had the original Violet doll when I was a child, and for nostalgia's sake, I decided to buy the updated one. I'm stunned by how beautifully her face is painted! Her eyes are amazing, too. Rather than painting her irises, they've been inlaid into her sclera. It really gives depth to her sweet but subtle expression. Despite how intense the packaging was, there is only a little bit of glue in her hair, so it feels nice and soft. With some difficulty, I was able to get her out of her super suit (it turns inside out but can easily be fixed with a pencil) and into my Snow White doll's royal shimmer dress. I don't have any other outfits in her size, but I think it's safe to say that she could fit into Barbie clothes. The cons: Her left knee just refuses to bend. It looks like the joint in her knee is either too small, or somehow stuck. I am also unsure why they decided to paint her hands black, instead of using slip-on gloves. It wouldn't have detracted from the product, and unless you swap her hands out, she basically has permanent gloves on.

Super Pose-able and Awesome
My nephew loves Violet and I was so excited to find this as a gift for him. He LOVES it! I'm pretty sure he lost her mask at some point, but she does come with a mask that can be easily removed and re-adhered (it's slightly sticky on the inside of the mask). The Violet doll is so very pose-able, which is my nephew's favorite thing with action figures. He loves playing with this doll and having her fight all the bad guys. It's also a good size, about a foot tall. Her hair doesn't really get tangled, which is impressive. I would highly recommend.
