I like this grill. It's perfect for what it was designed for and works very well. You'll need the 17" skewers for this. I made the mistake of ordering some 14" first but had to send them back.

Compact, feels very sturdy, very easy to set up, love it after 1st use

It was all in oil when I unpacked it. The good thing is there was no rust. I've been using it for a couple of months already. Yet - no deformation or other defects, it works as it should. The only thing I would change is the size, turns out I need something bigger for my family and guests :)

This grill works great for shashlik. The notches along the top are cut perfectly for Russian style skewers which are more flat and wide than the usual skewers used here in the states. The wider skewers spin inside the notches so you do not need to raise the skewer out of the notches to turn which makes this unit rather enjoyable to cook with. There are also two height levels that you can rest your skewers on so you can adjust for slightly hotter/colder zones. I also like how it folds in a suitcase shape to store away. Just 2 issues holding this back from 5 stars. First, I wish it was a couple inches larger to fit my skewers as I had to leave a lot of bare space on the skewer so the meat could fit inside the fire box. Second, I didn't like the finish of the metal. The unit had a strange oily smell out of the box and didn't smell like food oil to me; maybe it was but just smelled more industrial than culinary. I burned a fire the first day so I could burn off the manufacturing oil. On the 2nd day I did a cook (lots of fun on this unit) and then let the embers cool over night. On the third day, I already had rust spots forming. So my advice is to burn a fire in the box first thing with no food, clean it out after it cools and then immediately rub it down with cooking oil. Probably will need to oil the unit each time I use it to stave off rust. Edit March 2022: I gave up on fighting the rust. I had to sand off the rust and paint it with high heat grill paint. My advise is to just do this right away when you get it. Do a burn to burn off the nasty oil. Clean it well and paint it.

You know you getting something from ex-soviet union when it smells like and is covered in machine greeze. It's made out of military grade steel. I bet it's from decommissioned rocket or something. For an ex-pat those little things that reminds us of home are so precious. And this delivers. Now when it comes to barbecue grills it's you know not very user friendly. Just like Soviet Union - made to last forever but outdated since the origin.

Unboxed this and was right away dissapointed with the surface rust on the unit all over. Some welds look dirty and weak. The entire mangal is missing paint, very easy, grill paint is 9$ a can but this was overlooked to keep the production cheap but not the proce of $70 for an unfinished product. Gave this a first run today. More dissapointment. The mangal metal is thin and cheap, when the coal warmed to a red, the mangal began to twist from heat!!!! Burned myself trying to straighten it out. Overall not a good unit. Idea is great but it needs to be thought through more. I will be returning my unit as it is defective doesnt function correctly nor is it finished woth paint like it has in the pictures and it has rust. Ne skupaytes' na produccielyey. Idea horoshaya no dorabotayte!!

It is very comfortable. I can take this grill with me anywhere because it is foldable and comes with a special bag for it. This is what I wanted
