Galeria Acrylic Color, 200ml Tube, Ultramarine

So I’ve swatched this paint along with other greens I have by comparison. This is the only Hookers Green I have though so keep that in mind. I also have it shown where I added titanium white (Masters Touch— Hobby Lobby store brand. Not sure how much variance in titanium white there is though) to see how the color shows through. I’ve also noted the pigments indicated on packaging for anyone who knows enough about pigments for that to help you know if this will work for you. PY83, PB15:3 Semi-Transparent I enjoyed working with this paint. I mean if I’m paying Windsor Newton money I’m certainly hoping to get Windsor Newton quality. I’ll say compared to Golden affordability, this is definitely less costly and just as enjoyable to mix and paint with. I find that with Very low quality paints, not only does it make it more difficult to mix, it lowers the effectiveness of the paint since low quality paint is usually cut with much more filler and lacks pigment disclosures. For hobbyists and non professionals the pigment disclosures might not be much of a loss since you need the knowledge about pigments for it to mean much but I believe that pigment disclosures foster a trust with the brand and consumer so I’m happy that they are shown on this tube. That said, it’s Windsor Newton so I feel like it’s one of the more respectable brands out there. I do not think that your paints need to be Windsor Newton, Golden, Sennelier, Grumbacher, or any sort of high end brand to be good or work for your purposes. I honestly find that the super high quality, professional paints like Sennelier add a sort of pressure that makes me want to avoid wasting paint whereas with average paints I just go for it then throw something together with the leftovers. Since Windsor Newton is a well known and well respected brand I imagine the real review is just looking to see the undertones and properties of the paint. If this is on sale or costs as much as the cheaper stuff I wouldn’t (haven’t) hesitate to buy it. ALSO! I absolutely love the tube. I know it literally does not matter if it’s a plastic tube or in a sack, BUT I absolutely love the aesthetic of this paint tube. It’s sort of in between the plastic and metal types. Takes the best of both worlds as the downside for metal tubes is that they can bend pretty sharp and even result in holes at the corner points when folding over the tube to get the last bits of paint. I also enjoy the slightly larger and octagon shaped cap. (larger than grumbacher, fairly similar size to golden, smaller than masters touch) I think the octagon design really helps avoid gearing up your hands trying to open it.

I’m absolutely delighted with the Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic Color – Titanium White! This is hands down one of the best acrylic paints I’ve ever used, especially for its price point. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality white that works beautifully for mixing, highlighting, or as a base coat, this is a must-have in your toolkit. Here’s what stands out for me: Smooth and Creamy Texture: The paint has a fantastic, smooth, and buttery consistency that makes it easy to apply. It spreads effortlessly on the canvas and can be used both straight from the tube and mixed with other colors. Its thick consistency allows for great coverage, which is especially helpful when working on large projects or building up layers. Perfectly Opaque: Titanium White is known for its opacity, and this paint delivers on that promise. It covers even dark colors in just one or two layers, which is great for artists who need solid, opaque whites for highlights or mixing. Bright, Clean White: The color itself is a brilliant, crisp white with no yellowish or grey undertones. It maintains its brightness even after drying, which is crucial when you're looking for that sharp, pure white look in your artwork. Large Tube, Great Value: At 200ml (6.75oz), this tube is a fantastic value, especially for artists who use white frequently. I’ve been able to create multiple projects without running out too quickly, which makes this a cost-effective choice for anyone working with acrylics. Excellent Mixing Properties: This white mixes beautifully with other colors, whether you're creating pastel shades, tints, or lightening up darker hues. It doesn’t dull or change the integrity of the other pigments, so it’s perfect for color mixing. Fast Drying & Durability: Winsor & Newton’s Galeria line has a great drying time, and the paint remains vibrant and durable once it’s set. I’ve used it for everything from detailed paintings to base coats, and it hasn’t let me down in terms of both speed and quality. Overall, the Winsor & Newton Galeria Titanium White is an absolute essential for anyone who works with acrylics, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist. It’s versatile, affordable, and produces excellent results every time. Highly recommend!

Good quality paint....accurate color...nice

This is a nice fluid and workable paint.

Very nice. Good quality. Easy to use. Color was almost perfect. Will probably buy from this site again.

I 3D print small items and needed a strong, opaque white to paint text and other tiny features on top of dark plastic. I need it to be as opaque as possible in 1 coat, because many coats of paint start to become bulky on tiny 3D prints. I'm very impressed with this white paint. I would eyeball 1 thick coat or 2 thin coats to be ~98% opaqueness. The white has a strong contrast against dark colors on my 3d prints. Although it sounds expensive for 1 tube of paint, it is bigger than expected. One tube could last many years at the small scale I'm painting.

The top looked complicated so I googled how to open. Reviews warned it was a nightmare to open but the photos didn't show this yellow top. Surprise! I flipped the top up and it was effortless. Paint is good and thick and easy to squirt out. Whatever problem tops they used in the past, they obviously corrected with this model

I recently embarked on a project to paint a 3D printed miniature of Jinx from League of Legends, and for this task, I chose the Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic Color, specifically the Powder Blue shade. I must say, this paint has exceeded my expectations and has been an absolute joy to work with. Vibrant and True to Color: The Powder Blue shade is vibrant and rich, providing excellent coverage with just a few strokes. It matched the iconic color scheme of Jinx perfectly, bringing the character to life with stunning accuracy. The pigment is intense and translates beautifully on the miniature, maintaining its brilliance even after drying. Consistency and Ease of Application: The consistency of the paint is just right for miniature painting. It’s neither too thick nor too runny, which allows for precise application and control. It goes on smoothly, and I found it very easy to work with, whether using a brush for larger areas or a fine tip for the intricate details of the miniature. Quick Drying and Durable Finish: One of the great things about this acrylic paint is its quick-drying property. It allowed me to work on different parts of the miniature without long waits in between. Once dry, the paint adhered well to the 3D printed material, creating a durable finish that resists chipping and peeling. Mixing and Blending Capabilities: I was also impressed with how well this paint mixes and blends. Creating gradients and shadows on the miniature was effortless, and the paint retained its vibrancy even when mixed with other colors. Long-Lasting Use: Despite using it extensively on the Jinx miniature, there’s still plenty of paint left in the tube. A little goes a long way with this paint, making it a cost-effective choice for miniature painters and hobbyists. Conclusion: In conclusion, Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic Color in Powder Blue is a top-quality paint that I highly recommend for miniature painting projects. Its vibrant color, perfect consistency, ease of use, and lasting finish make it ideal for bringing 3D printed characters like Jinx to life. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a hobbyist, this paint is sure to impress with its professional results.

Winsor and newton paint acrylic paints are excellent.. they have a nice body to it .. the paint blob doesn't run away it stays in places compared to crafters acrylics...but before u buy make sure u do your research on the color to see your results because some paints are naturally see through and others are naturally not see through.. it drys to a light gloss almost matt ... colors dont shift inless u put a student grade paint with it like crafters acrylics when the students paint is more the artist paint... i have been injoying this paint now for a yr and i em afraid to change from winsor and newton acrylic paint because it is so good And Amazon.ca i cant mention sheerness because each paint is different its not clothing lol

The pigment in this red is strong, bold, and mixes beautifully with other colours. The paint applies smoothly and evenly on canvas. It dries quickly but still allows a bit of blending time. A high-quality and affordable acrylic that delivers excellent results.
