Singing Dragon The Art and Practice of Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine
S**5
Simple and easy to understand the complexity of TCM.
Both Nigel Ching's books are well done: in January 2021 I started the acupuncture course. "The Fundamentals.." and "The Art.." explain in a simple and easy to understand way the complexity of TCM better than other more quote books (which I started and left soon). Hamid Montakab's books are also to consider.

Great reference
Fantastic text for practitioner, student or anyone looking for an understandable but in depth knowledge of TCM.

Good content but you have to know the jargon.
This book has (I think) the information I need hence 4 stars but falls into the usual two traps: 1) uses all of the Chinese jargon instead of making the effort to write in English (eg why say xu and shi all the time instead of lack and excess? Although there is a glossary of sorts, the basics are not well explained. Just makes life harder for those of us who don't want constantly to dot in and out of Chinese) and 2) telling us the failings of Western medicine, in the most sweeping generalisations. Please stick with your own subject and leave western medicine alone. If you've never met a western medic who was holistically minded, you haven't tried too hard. Once this book loses its insecurities and also is translated into English, I think it will be really excellent.
