Shocking turn of events
My dog can destroy any toy, when she gets a new toy it's almost as if her brain goes "challenge accepted". So I have been in the market looking for the perfect toy that wouldn't result in landing itself in a trash bin the same day it arrives. I have purchased so many toys and so many brands that claim to be for extreme chewers, all have failed the test except this one. This is a tough toy, to be honest I'm not sure my dog enjoys it because it is so hard. She chews it with the intention of wanting to destroy the thing, every chew results in a little whimper followed by another chew and so on and so on. So far it has held up to my dog. It's literally the first toy ever that has lasted more than 24 hours in this house. I would recommend this brand to a friend.

Indestructible
Listen, I can’t rate the actual product based on my dog liking it or not, because they liked it for about a week before they lost interest (I bought 2) the thing is indestructible, it’s built well, I’m convinced it would survive a train collision. your dogs will not be able to chew through this thing. Whether they hold interest or not is another story.Update: have had these for a while, dogs were interested for about a week or two, ever since, I could give them a shoe and they would be more interested in that. This might be good for a teething dog, but it’s not stimulating enough to keep a grown dog entertained. It doesn’t really do anything it’s just a plastic bone with bumps that’s as hard as a rock.

Supervision is Important!
I bought this for my high chewing-drive lab. You would think "Wolf" would be excessive for a Retriever. Not so my girl. She and I both loved the round spiky protuberances on the ends. Then she discovered the rubber wrapping that covered the middle (green in the first picture, missing in the second). Photos taken less than a week apart. Once I started finding little pieces of green rubber I watched her like a hawk so I could take larger pieces away. Not my first Retriever nor my first Nylabone. But next time I'll be sure to look for non-Nyla parts!

Great price and my dogs love this bone.
This one is a favorite of my dogs. They are very aggressive chewers and it took them a long while before they chewed a hole in the end of it requiring me to get another. And like magic, here it is on Amazon and quite a bit cheaper than in the store. My dog got so excited when I presented her with her new bone that was exactly like her old bone. She grabbed it and ran off with it and carried it all around the house with her for days. And yes, it hurts when you accidentally step on this in the middle of the night trying to find the bathroom in the dark.

) but he doesn't enjoy it as much as his other Nylabone because of ...
This review is less on the quality of the item and more on the description of the item. I ordered a "wolf" size, which according to the Nylabone brand is a dog that is about 35 pounds, my Cocker is about 30 so it's close ( it also the size I buy for ALL of his other Nylabone toys). However the bone they sent me was way too big for him, he hardly chews on it because he can barely hold it in his paws, I compared the bone I got here on Amazon to one in the store and it was for an XL size dog, 50+ pounds!! So it is tough enough for him (he may be small but he's strong!) but he doesn't enjoy it as much as his other Nylabone because of it's large size.

Really Big bone, good for big chewers
This bone was bigger than I expected. We have a medium sized dog, a 2 yr old sheppard mutt that really looks like a wolf. She's about 40 pounds and she has so far ignored the bone. We think she might take to it later if she lost her favorites. She really liked the nylabone that looked like a regular shape dog bone in the medium wolf size. So we thought all the wolf sized bones were going to go over well, but this one is bigger. So, for those shoppers contemplating this bone, for the size and the price, it was a good deal. this could never work for a tiny or small dog (under 35 pounds), but for the med to large group with big jaws, they should be happy. A medium sized pit bull over 40 pounds would be thrilled to get this.

My Dogs Favorite Bone
Our 80lb dog is a very, very avid chewer. Almost nothing makes it past her chew test. These Nylabone Dura Chew bones are her favorite. She literally gnaws on one every single day. Usually, the first thing she does it pick the rubber of the center of the bone but, luckily for me, she just spits it out as she gets little bits of it off. Then she works on the knobby ends. I replace the bone when it gets to be about the diameter of the center section. I'd say this take 9 - 12 months. Of course beside being a boredom buster for her, I think that gnawing helps keep her teeth pearly white.

Great for my strong chewer
Nearly all of my dog's toys are heavy duty chew toys (Kong extreme, Nylabone, etc.) because she loves to chew and is very hard on her toys. I was a little hesitant about this one because I wasn't sure how quickly she would destroy the green rubber in the middle. While some of the green nubs have worn off, she has not destroyed it or gotten much of the rubber off that I'm concerned about her ingesting it. She loves carrying this one around in her mouth because of the softer green part, and she looks so proud of herself when she's carrying it. She will carry it around by the green part and then sit down to chew on the hard outside edges. It's been over a month and we're still going strong with this toy, and we will get another one whenever this one finally bites the dust.

My staffy boy loves it.
My staffy boy is absolutely obsessed with this bone, like he's never been b4! The only issue is the green mint flavoured rubber in the middle isn't thick enough and he can rip it off in chunks as he's a very powerful chewer, which is disappointing. Luckily he spits any bits he does pull off straight out but I have to watch him like a hawk. Most of the time he just likes to sit with it in his mouth staring at us for ages then runs to hide with it. If he didn't love it so much I would probably of thrown it but he does, so I will buy again. The end parts are very tough.

Young Doberman ate some of the green rubber!
I bought a size wolf of this product for my one year old female Doberman. She chewed it happily for an hour while I was cooking and when I checked she had eaten a 50p sized piece of the green rubber handle! What a silly idea to have a durable Nylabone incased in rubber! I hope to god that this will pass safely through her but will never buy again.

After using it for 5mins it made my friends dog bleed! Please don’t waste your money on something that is going to hurt a dog!

Tried and tested by a Labrador
My mum bought me this bone to distract me from chewing the rug and her new spectacles which were a replacement for the week old ones that I munched.I have very strong jaws and most chew toys/bones mum has bought me last about 5 minutes however I am able to grip the Dura bone easily and have a good old chomp and amazingly it is still intact after many weeks. From Jimbo

One of the best most robust yet
One of the best id nylabones yet. Seems slightly bigger and heavier than others in this size but my staffy loves it. In fact I haven't come across a nylabone that he doesn't like. And I have thrown none of them. The only thing I can buy for him that lasts longer than a minute.. a must buy for any heavy chewer
