Contrary to what some buyers complained about this item. I found it to be exactly what was needed for the purpose of emitting various tones to alert nearby people of your approach. Prior to using the device. There is a small plastic tab typically inserted to keep the pre installed battery fresh and ready for use. Upon removal of the tab. The device works as advertised. The sound emitted is quite loud.

And this one is no exception. It's all about the design. Having one button matters. My previous horn had 3 buttons and the one to sound the horn was in the middle. It was hard to hit reliably without looking as is the case 90% of the time. This ROCKBROS horn is great that way, there's only one button and can be found fast by feel. The next great design feature is the whistle sound. It sounds like a police whistle and gets the attention of drivers. This unit is not as loud as my previous horn but it is adequate. Don't expect this to stay put on the handlebars with only the rubber strap. In my experience, no rubber strap you can pull tight without breaking is strong enough to hold the horn in place when you sound the alarm. Fortunately, this unit rests against my brake lever at an acceptable angle. YMMV. About the lack of rechargable battery, I have come around to it. I think this design holds up to the weather better; especially when transported at highway speeds on a rack. I think that was a factor in the demise of my previous horn.

The RockBros bicycle horn worked great when it was new. It was loud enough to alert vehicles and definitely helped me feel safer while riding on the road. A few years later, the batteries needed replacing, and that’s where the problems started. Removing the weatherproof cover exposed a flimsy plastic battery housing that felt cheaply made. The batteries were difficult to remove, and installing new ones was more challenging than it should have been because of the fragile plastic design. Overall, I’d say it’s a decent horn while it lasts, but the battery replacement process is a weak point. If you ride regularly and expect long term durability, you may want to consider replacing it with a better built model once the original batteries wear out.

Just received this item, and had to order a replacement. Pressing the button to activate did absolutely nothing. It was DOA! I can see what some complained about regarding charging. There is NO charging port, and apparently no way to change the battery. Apparently this is a self-contained unit and when the battery dies, it is just dead and you have to purchase a replacement. Cannot say that I am happy about that and most likely would not purchase again, due to this. I also would hesitate to recommend the item for purchase, as you do not know how 'fresh' the battery is in it. Your usage period would be totally determined by how fresh the battery was, when you received it. You are essentially rolling the dice here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: In the initial review, above, you pretty much get my initial reaction to this item. I then started looking closely at the item, finding that I could pull back the rubber covering from the item. Well, I kept pulling, to see what was underneath the covering. I found a 'battery tab', where you have to pull a covering item, which had been placed to prevent the battery from making contact and draining. I pulled the covering out, and tried the whistle, now that the battery was making contact. The horn worked!! BTW, there is a battery 'tray', so you CAN replace the battery, when needed. Without instructions it just was not obvious as to what was happening. I imagine others have also returned the item, thinking it did not work, due to the battery being prevented from being operational, until you removed the material preventing the battery from making contact. The replacement that I requested has already been shipped, so I could not cancel it. I will just keep both of them, and just have a spare. I would now give the item a FIVE STAR rating.

Great product, have bought 4 for 4 separate bikes. Easy to install, have 3 different sounds that get peoples attention! Have not had to replace any batteries for two years now.

Worked great. I got it for my 21 month son since it’s easier to push a button than it is to press the hard little tab on the old school bike bells.

So easy to put in any bike with any size bar and LOUD! We used them for our NYC rides and loved them. People heard us coming and we passed more safely. Plus was how they fit any bike

I purchased two of these… one worked… the other did not. The one that worked though always moves and is not right against the handle bars. Not very loud either. I’m returning them both.Arrived BROKEN...DO NOT BUY!!!!! They are JUNK! and no communication from the seller. THAT should tell you something!

Everything is good except its silicon strap to tie with cycle steering, instead of silicon it should be of metal , aluminium for longer life, Silicon. Straps breaks due to heat , reuse again and again
