Good for sensitive skin
Love it. Doesn't give me breakouts. Best sunscreen I've tried for the money spent.

Undeniable Quality, always Affordable!
I have used Altruist for around 7 years now, since getting pretty bad acne in my late teens, and going on a big skincare journey from there. It has never aggravated my acne, or eczema, it sits well under makeup, it's not greasy, and it has a neutral smell. I appreciate that their products have remained affordable, and that they stay true to their cause - protecting skin! Their facial fluid formula had to change for a while a few years back (because of ingredient shortages, great customer service btw), and it kept pilling, so I opted for this particular spf 50 instead, and I have stuck to it since! So even their body sunscreens are great on your face, even if you're acne-prone! Thank you Altruist :)

Effective both at preventing sunburn and on sensitive skin
My kid has very sensitive and very pale skin. Although other creams we've used prevent sun burn, there is usually some mild skin reaction, at least. That isn't the case with this stuff. No sunburn and no reactions over sustained use for at least the past three years. It's also less sticky than most other creams we've tried, which is a bonus. We haven't tried it after swimming so can't comment on that, but I'd reapply after swimming with any cream anyway to be on the safe side. Recommend trying this stuff for anyone with sensitive skin.

Good but not for me
Bought this for a trip to the Dominican Republic as a red head who is vampiric white on the colour charts in addition to the face sun screen... The sun cream works and I didn't burn so major plus. I did however stop using it as I didn't like the feel on my skin . This could have been over application as I normally go for a teaspoon blob for each leg and then same for left arm/chest and right arm / back as recommended but even after 30 mins it felt greasy and didn't seem to absorb. The face fluid caused me to break out in lots of white heads from day one. Bottom line on this if your not worried about a greasy feel and don't want to burn, then for the cost this is a good sun screen as it's also reef safe I also did like the tube as it didn't feel to bulky and I felt I could have got all the product out.

A High Quality Sunscreen At A Good Price
This sunscreen has been developed by British dermatologist, Dr Andrew Birnie, who is a specialist in the management of skin cancer in the UK. Having experienced an increase in the rate of skin cancer in his patients, Dr Birnie has developed a high quality sunscreen at a very reasonable price. This sunscreen is SPF 50, which offers a very high level of sun protection. It uses both physical and chemical filters to protect your skin from harmful UV light, though the lack of significant presence of zinc oxide would suggest this would be classed more as a chemical, rather than a physical sunscreen. It is a combination sunscreen. The sunscreen applies easily to the face and body and tends to absorb relatively quickly, which would be another indication that it is a chemical-leaning product. The texture of the product is not unpleasant, though it does not quite absorb or apply as nicely as more expensive sunscreens. The texture can feel somewhat oily if you apply all in one go. I suggest applying a small amount, allowing this to absorb, and then reapplying the product to avoid feeling oily. The high percentage of glycerin could be one of the reasons that it feels somewhat oily if applied in one go in a large quantity. In any case, it is necessary to keep in mind that, while the product does not apply quite as perfectly as other sunscreens, I am comparing it to products costing ten times as more. For the price, and using the trick of applying it in two stages, this product is outstanding. The sun protection is as good, if not better, than products costing up to £40.00 per bottle. This sunscreen costs £4.00 per bottle. The bottle is an attractive but simple grey and dispenses product with a gentle squeeze. It can also be cut open when the product begins to run low, allowing you to use every drop. The product appears to be made in the Netherlands, though other bottles i have received have been made in Germany, and each purchase supports also children with albinism living in Africa. At the price of £8.00 for two bottles, there really is no excuse not to use and reapply this product frequently. A triumph and a product I reorder regularly.

No eye irritation!!! 😄😃😀
Purchased after hearing an interview with a founder of Altruist. I’ve never found a suncream that is easy to rub in, doesn’t leave a white mess and isn’t sensitive around the eyes. Altruist claimed to be all of these things. I’m so pleased I found this suncream. You can put it on like a moisturiser all over your face including eyes and eye lids. Does not smell, does not irritate, and is easy to absorb. I can replace my moisturiser with this which means I’ll always be protected from the suns damage. My only negative comment is that it is a little sticky but this seems to lessen after about 30mins and is not certainly a reason not to purchase it. *Edit* After some use I can say it isn’t sticky or greasy! I can tell because my hair doesn’t stick to my face like it usually does when I have suncream on! Top marks from me. It’s a little expensive compared to say Aldi or Lidl’s own but I’m happy to pay the extra for face protection that is kind to the eyes. An all year round must.
