FenderCustom Shop Barstool, 30in

I recently started teaching myself guitar, and wanted to be sure that I started with all of the right habits, including proper posture when practicing.All of my guitar playing friends recommended that I use a stool or an arm-less chair, in which the guitar rests in the same position (via the strap) when I am sitting, as when I am standing. I originally started playing on my couch, but quickly saw how you can begin to slouch, and get out of the proper position quickly, essentially hovering over the guitar neck to more easily see what you are doing.Most standard practice stools are 24", but I am 6 ft 3 in and needed a little extra height to give me more range of motion, whether placing my feet on the ground, or being able to rest my foot on the stool leg.This 30" Fender stool has been great, and is also really attractive and has a nice retro vibe. Some people complained about the cushion being thin or uncomfortable, but I have found that it isn't all that different from other stools I tried (I went to a local Guitar Center to "test drive" stools before ordering online). I haven't had any issues sitting on it for long periods of time, and usually get up to stretch my legs every 20 mins or so anyway, therefore it hasn't been a problem. The cushion is also thicker than some reviews made it out to be.The stool is perfectly stable, doesn't wobble and was easy to put together. It took a little getting used to, sitting up the way you do in a stool, but it quickly feels more natural...also, keep in mind, I originally started by thinking the couch was a good place to practice, but am glad I got this stool as soon as I did, before I got settled into more bad practice habits. At least in the beginning, while I am learning, then as I get more skilled I'm sure I can sit differently / elsewhere when practicing and playing.I'd say if you're over 6 ft tall, this might be a better solution for you so that you don't feel so low to the ground when practicing. If you're under 6 ft tall, it might be a little too high for you and the 24" might be the better option for you to consider.

Decent stool from Fender... or what Fender has allowed their name to be stamped on. Not top notch quality but will serve its job. Feels like Fender knows that if they stamp their name on a product people will buy it no matter what and quality control falls to the way side.

Read the reviews for the 24" version and you'll get a much better idea of this product's issues. I wanted something I could sit on comfortably while I play my guitar. You'd think this stool would be perfect, as it is a Fender-branded product. Bad assumption.As soon as you sit down on it, you'll notice that it's like sitting on a piece of plywood. The cushion looks thick, but it's actually very thin and it gets thinner as you get closer to the edges. The edge has no cushion whatsoever and it digs into your legs while you play. Not what I was hoping for. It looks nice, but it's a cruel joke on your butt. After 15 minutes of sitting on this, you'll want to get up and get some feeling back in your backside and legs. But hey - it says "Fender" on it, so it must be cool, right? Not really. I'd rather have something with less style and more comfort. This product just isn't practical for anything more than a few minutes of use. I think Fender's product department should all have to sit on these for a day and see if they'd still put their brand name on it!I noticed that several of the 5 star reviews are from the spouses who bought these as gifts. Mine was a gift from my spouse and she was a bit annoyed when I said I didn't like it. Personally, I'd take those 5 star reviews from spouses with a grain of salt, as they may not be based on honest feedback from the actual user. It's probably safer to just say "it's great, thanks honey!"On the positive side, although it took a bit of time to assemble, mine went together pretty well and seems very solidly built. I hope it comes apart just as easily for the return trip, as I plan to send it back. Another positive - although it's like sitting on plywood, at least there's no splinters. Well done, Fender! ;)

I have a fondness for all things Fender. I purchased for a small bar area I’m working on. Items were shipped quickly. The packages were sturdy and arrived without damage. Comes I assembled with a sheet of instructions. Two words of caution when putting it together. One, don’t completely tighten screws until you have all the pieces where the belong. Two, there are three sizes of screws provided. Placement of screws according to the manufacturer directions is wrong! You will have to find the right size for each of these steps fairly easy As I figured out the first stool, the other two were easy. Also supplied with shims to level out the legs, you will need them. All in, I would buy again.

I bought this because I really needed a stool to sit on while learning to play. I didn't want to fork over the big $$ that a music stool normally demands. This looked like a less expensive alternative and had Fender Custom Shop printed on it. I was happy to find out that this is a solid stool (all of 30") that was easy to put together and very comfortable. It helps you to keep a good posture, imho, by forcing you to sit up straight. I highly recommend this. Well constructed and completely functional, and it looks nice. I also bought the Red one.

Husband loved it- perfect height for playing guitar on. We actually having this sitting in our living room at all times for him to sit and play on. I like that the design is nice so it doesn't look like an eye sore in our living room. Easy to assemble...we assembled it in about 5 minutes after several beverages.

Excellent quality product which turns on a plinth which is comfortable and handy if you have to move when on it. Its easier to put together than reported, I am not a genius at these things but I managed to have it up and was using it within ten minutes. Took me longer to get the rid of the packaging. Excellent seat, very comfortable and good size if you are quite tall.

Lieferung erfolge sehr schnell und zuverlässig.Der Hocker kommt in 5 Einzelteilen, ist aber recht schnell mit der beigefügten Anleitung montiert.Insgesamt macht das Produckt einen mittelmäßig robusten Eindruck, allerdings sind die Kappen an den Füßen nur aufgesteckt und ohne größeres Zutun abgefallen (lassen sich aber wieder aufsecken :) )Leider finde ich den Preis allerdings wirklich sehr hoch dafür dass der Hocker nicht wirklich viel aushält und man zudem ständig die Kappen verliert.
