I love to cook, and needed an inexpensive set of knives to help me out. I found this set, and decided it was just perfect for my needs. The best part of these knives is the design; the metal of the blade goes clear through the handle thereby avoiding the possibility of the blade bending off the handle as what can happen with other brands. Safety in the kitchen is very important to me, so this automatically caught my attention while looking it over. After using it for a while I can say I do not regret this decision to buy at all. The price is so much less than it should be; these knives are excellent quality.I will say, though, I had a chuckle at the box art. That was the most obvious use of Photoshop ever, but for 25$ all I really cared about was what was inside the box rather than what was printed on the outside.

I cannot say that I was expecting the very best when spending anything under $50 for a knife block set, but I recently bought the LivingKit Stainless Steel Kitchen Knife Block Set Block 14 Piece for my boyfriend and am so pleased (and he is as well)! He has a 1 bedroom apartment and mostly just cooks for himself, sometimes for up to 3 or 4 people (including himself) at a time. He loves the set and is very thankful that I bought it for him, as he cooks VERY often (he is in grad school, so living on a tight budget means he can't afford to eat out very often). I am giving this product 5 stars because he or myself have not noticed any flaws with any of the knives, scissors, or the block itself. He has had them now for over a month and uses them multiple times a day. With that said, here are the pros that I have noted:*They have all maintained their sharpness with daily use (multiple times a day)*The blade is not glued into the handle, but rather the metal of the blades are the entire length of the knives, while the handles are screwed in on either side of the top (to ensure the blades don't snap).*The scissors work great as well. They are the only pair that he has, and they work well for all of his needs (in the kitchen and for paper/tape/string/etc).*The block itself has a very nice and clean look to it and is small enough that he can store it on the counter top without it being a center focal point in his kitchen.*The knives all rest very well in the block as well.*The variety of knives ensures you always have what you need while cooking - including the sharpener (which he hasn't had to use yet!)There are currently no cons that I can think to list!Even after daily use for over a month (multiple times a day), I was cutting a lime with the paring knife and I actually cut myself (not extremely deep), but the cut was so clean that I didn't feel it and had no idea that it even happened until I saw blood (I'm lucky the lime juice didn't get to my cut, ouch!) Yeah, it sucks cutting yourself while cooking, but that's my own fault. In reality, it made me even more pleased with my decision.This product is obviously still fairly new, so I can't say much about the longevity, but I do know that the quality alone is worth the price (I mean, come on, you really can't beat the price) and he or myself have not noticed anything we dislike about the set! I highly recommend this to anyone considering the product as well as my own family and friends! These knives are definitely good starter knives. As a 22 year old who hadn't owned any kitchen cooking utensils before, these knives will definitely do the job until I'm ready to emotionally invest in a nicer set . I had read other reviews with people complaining these knives weren't sharp enough or were damaged when they arrived. From first glance, the knives seem of good quality and are definitely sharp, I had no problems with the knives not fitting in the block. I will say though that the scissors look HELLA cheap and I can see the plastic holding the blades in slightly chipping/the blades not fully fitting inside the plastic. For the price though, I can deal with cheapy quality scissors.Other than cheap quality scissors, another thing to keep in mind is that these knives should definitely not go in the washing machine or be left with water on them. I used the paring knife and left it in the sink for about 10 minutes while I ate, and the knife was already showing rust spots.UPDATE: one of the knives is already dented and damaged.

My Wife and I are so glad we purchased this set of knives, because not only are they really sharp, they are really nice to have on your counter! The clear acrylic holder is pretty and takes up less space than most wooden block knife holders! The other thing we like about them is the fact that they are a one piece knife. No crevices for food to get stuck in. We would definitely recommend this set to our friends and family'

My first review looked like this..."Block wobbles back and forth and from side to side on a flat surface. Wood block is small and looks cheaply made. Did not get a chance to inspect the knives. The package was returned about 30 minutes after I got it."The manufactures were dismayed over the poor review and sent me a second block and knife set. I found the second set to be less wobbly with some side to side motion that i can live with. The whole assembly is fairly compact. Knives seem to be fairly sharp. I guess it's a good price for what you get.

Wow I love this set! I thought it was going to be super cheesy to be honest but the pics do not do it justice. It is really good quality. The knives are sturdy and a decent weight for a starter set. I could not wait to get started using them. They are super sharp. They all fit in the included block and it is slim and space saving. Comes with its own sharpener and bone scissors. Super excited to be chopping.

Have been using these for about a month and am very happy with the quality. The knives were very sharp upon arrival and the variety of knife sizes/blades is perfect. Just make sure you don't leave them in a wet sink or put them through the dishwasher, as one got left in the sink accidentally and developed a very small rust spot. If you take care of them properly, they will last!
