Will fit into cup holder?

The outside diameter of the mug is 3.5 inches. Because the mug is straight-walled and does not taper at the bottom, it does not fit in most cupholders. If you have a large cupholder that has a slot for the handle, it might work. Otherwise, this does not fit in a cupholder.

I prefer the part you are drinking from to be fairly flat which makes it easier to drink from. How thick is the lip where you drink from the cup?

The lip is standard to most insulated drink vessels.

Can you drink ok without the lid?

Yes, drinking was no problem. My problem was removing the lid. It was tough to do. My friend loves hers that was why I bought one. I returned mine.
