Kamisama Kiss, Vol. 1

To be perfectly honest? It's now my favourite manga ever. It's got a fantastic mix of romance, comedy, and fantasy (specifically Japanese mythology) and I don't think I could get bored of it! I've already read the entire series, and I keep flicking through some of the books again and again. Everyone else I know that's read these are smitten, and I'm still recommending it to whoever else I can. Despite the number of books I still don't feel like I can get enough of this world and the characters in it. There's so much put into this world and the plot is so cleverly weaved.I'd definitely suggest giving it a go if you like manga that are romance, comedy, fantasy, demons, supernatural, and/or shoujo.

When reading most Shōjo manga, the characters a very fantasised and difficult to engage with, but the fantasy here is taken straight up with the supernatural element.Once you get over the ridiculousness of how some of the characters are introduced and you seen the humour, the storyline is wonderful. The author takes her time for you get to know all of the characters as they are introduced, letting the main themes roll around them (independence vs stubbornness, mental vs physical strength, optimism vs pragmatism).Nanami is kind, but not all irritatingly sweet, whilst remaining goofy and really genuine. Tomoe (Lead guy) is really beautiful[ly drawn] with such a wonderful example of Chaotic Good, that they can really have fun with the plot development. In this chapter some of his actions do seem a little contradictory, but as the overall picture of his character develops he becomes more believable.Sometimes you do feel the translation might be a little ajar, with Tomoe's profanities being a little tame, or the sentences feeling a little backwards, but not bad enough to stop it being readable - most should be aware if the difficulties in this respect. I really like how they have a fair amount of Translators Notes at the back.The anime doesn't really do the series a lot of justice,so I would really really recommend this - and have been DESPERATELY trying to get all my friends into this too!!Buy if - you like a little supernatural, and a joke about, with light hearted drama.Don't buy if - your looking for angst-y teen romance or lots of beat-em-up action.The plot does develop to be really sweet as well, without being rushed, and I am pretty much in love with this series.

I need the next book desperately

I have read the whole series of Kamisama and I absolutely love it. It's very funny, the characters are extremely cute and attaching. The story is well thought through and the art is fabulous. I love Julietta Suzuki's style, and i love her characters.

Scratch marks all over the book as if someone used it to write something on paper on top of it. Bent corners. Damaged
