Q: The bottom plate of the platform assembly is bent down slightly. This is the plate where it attaches to the hydraulic ram. Is this normal?

As long as you can adjust the upper plate to accept the transmission, I don't see an issue with the lower plate not being exactly horizontal. Mine is slightly off also but as I stated I don't think it's a problem. My jack arrived with no hardware to assemble it, but a call to Torin had the missing hardware to my door in about a week.

Q: do the casters lock (have breaks)?

No breaks. But when I use it, I am on a level floor and don't need brakes. The tilt feature allows easy alignment without letting the lift to roll back when stabbing the tranny. If you want, I am sure you could easily buy locking casters as they are just bolt on anyway.

Q: can I buy just the RAM ?????

I called the 800 number for Torin and ordered a replacement cylinder.

Q: My jack didn't come with wheels?
