La La Means I Love You/Sound Of Sexy Soul

Ahhh! So good! That sweet, soulful Philly Sound. The musical match of Thomas Bell, William Hart produced an attractive sound that had me hooked from the beginning like that of Teddy Randazzo, Bobby Weinstein; Burt Bacharach, Hal David. These songwriters/producers knew how to bring out the best in the Delfonics, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Dionne Warwick. How appropriate for the Delfonics and Thomas Bell to pay homage to them by including covers of some of their hits. They do a great job on all the covers songs included in this double set. The standout tracks without question are the Delfonics' original songs. The A and B sides of the singles which received considerable airplay are here as well on this double LP offering. The tracks that were not released as singles are just as good. There is no filler material on this CD.

I love classic R&B, and who better can I listen too. The Delfonics was one of my favorite groups is all times!

This rating is for the physical CD itself, not the outstanding musiccontained therein:1. When I tried to play songs 23 and 24, the disc would simply not play on my laptop. So, I took it to my car and discovered that, indeed the songs would not plan on my car's CD player. The CD itself is defective2. Amazon promptly sent me a second disc, and I have the exact same problem. The CD itself is defectiveOf course, during the manufacturing process, something went wrong, and, due to the lack of Quality Control, this wasn't caught!!I will let Amazon know, again, that the CD's themselves are bad, and should be re-manufactured.Again, this is a review on the physical CD itself, not the outstanding music contained on it! What a letdown...I rate the music: 5 stars (what else?)I rate the CD: 1 star (lowest setting that I could take - I'd give it zero stars, if I could)

My opinion the best combination. One of the best R&B bands ever!

Perhaps this "Bob" is partial to packages that were produced here in the USA, i.e. Buddah Records. Are there some good American packages? Of Course! However it is also true, I'm afraid to say, that many times the European imports sound better. This is particularly true of Sequel records, which is based in The United Kingdom, Repertoire Records, which is a German import, Charly Records, which is based in The United Kingdom, and of course, Kent Records, which involves the disc being discussed.This is only a partial list. I'm afraid my mind is not working up to par..it's 7AM!! My point here is that this packages sounds GREAT. No holds barred!! If you listen through a GOOD pair of headphones, i.e. Sennheiser, I would imagine that you would likely agree with me.

If you love classic soul music like I do, this is the BEST one-two-package anywhere. The Delfonics (with Tom Bell) were never better than displayed in this two cd set. My favorite and probably your favorite Delfonic songs are right here in this cd set. They finally got it right this time!

The Delfonics are the best...This CD has it all..Amazon gets the best.

Firstly there is NOTHING sub standard or below par of this CD. This so called Bob is an idiot who needs his ears cleaned. Stop trying to think you have a golden ear. You don't. I've had this CD since the beginning of 2008.As for the music it's classic, classy and sexy soul. Some OK covers, yet many of these have been done over in reggae, notably'La La','Break Your Promise','Losing You',and 'I'm Sorry.This is an great introduction to this legendary group that's well presented by those good people at Ace Records. It puts todays so called R&B to shame.
