An important study of TCKs in intl schools
This is an important book for children (and families) who have grown up in international schools. It outlines the unique lens through which TCKs of intl faculty view the world and the skills and challenges they experience during their overseas time and after it. Highly recommend.

Good Basic Information
I came to this book with certain expectations and did not enjoy it as much as I hoped because of those expectations. A useful book nonetheless, the first portion is full of studies and information about third culture kids specifically in the international education field; the second is full of personal anecdotes from EdKids, via studies done by the author. This book would benefit from having more concrete data and suggestions for adaptation sectioned out from the anecdotes, as there are often conflicting anecdotes and it is difficult to determine what the dominant opinion of the student/EdKid was.For those individuals who do cross-cultural work and/or are international educators who deal with EdKids (or may raise them themselves), this is a good start on assembling information to create your own practical tips and tricks.

Eye opening research into a group that has previously been overlooked
My family of four moved overseas to teach internationally four years ago. We had extensive counseling and research as it relates to the TCK, but I always felt we had missed something in our preparation. This book addressed it! It was the major change we went through now working at the same school where our children attended coupled with all the typical overseas challenges. I'm thankful to know all my stressors were validated, and I now have some strategies for dealing with them. I only wish I'd read this four years ago!
