Great seed catcher and birds love it!
I needed something to catch the falling seed that the birds kick out of the feeder. This works great! Does it get 100% of the falling seed? No, but does a really great job. The thing I wasn't expecting was the birds LOVE this hanging under the feeder. After 2 days of having it up, I saw my first Rose-Breasted Grosbeak just hanging out in it!! Loved this so much, I bought a second for my other feeder.

Saves me $$ on bird feed
Good quality - a little smaller than expected - chains are very long but I just looped them around hooks. Overall very happy. Saves a lot of bird feed from falling on ground.

Buy this to save bird seed from messy birds!
If you’re feeding birds, we all have those few that must scatter the bird seed, and it goes to waste in the ground. Sometimes the critters will eat it, or the ground feeding birds will, however let’s call it for what it is, money in the grass. I bought one of these trays last summer. And then I bought two more for winter feeding as I put up more feeders then. I have “saved” so much seed, and the ground feeding birds are far happier it’s up higher as they perch on our deck railing, and fly between the houses rooftops and decks/trees. Our feeders seem busier too. I noticed this spring, many more wild baby bird chicks had an easier time sitting in the trays eating vs on the perches. We also receive a great deal of transitional birds. The trays are a thick plastic composite, with four chains you hook to your feeder, in whatever way that will work with your feeder. You’ll get creative as they are all different. The tray IS designed to use all four chains! The chains DO rust, so keep that in mind. The chains can be cleaned and painted with an outdoor metal spray paint, and threaded back into the trays. It’s a very good value for the tray, I just wish the chain were stainless steel. So I’m taking a star away for that.

This works great for us.
Very pleased with this. We have two cage-type bird feeders to keep the squirrels out. They still hung on to the cage and tipped seed all over the ground. There would be more seed on the ground than in the bird feeder. With this on the feeder some of the seed still ends up on the ground but, the majority of the seed falls into it. The birds and the squirrels treat it as a flat feeder, which is fine as they aren't chucking it all over the ground. It has made a lot of difference. We only have it on the one feeder. The deer clean up what is on the ground of the second, lower feeder. Would not hesitate to order it again.

Chains rusting
The seed catcher does catch some seeds and shells, maybe half of the safflower seeds the chickadees toss out in their search for already shelled seeds. However, the chains that connect the catcher to the bird feeder are rusting out and it’s only been outside for two months.

Actually catches the seed. No waste.
Loved the catcher. Most seeds go into it. Nice size. Birds will eat off of it too.

Good seed tray
Works good for catching most seeds from the feeder due to squirrels and birds scratching the food onto the ground. Had to enlarge the holes for the chains a little to be able to shorten the length. Like that I can remove it easily when refilling the feeder.
