This retractable baby gate has been ideal for keeping my kid in the parts of our home that we want him to be. When we're doing laundry and don't want my kid to enter the laundry room, we simply pull the baby gate from one side of the hall and attach it to the other, shutting the space off. When we're finished, we simply detach the gate from the far side and allow it to retract to its base.The mesh is strong and durable. They keep restricted spaces and/or toddlers or puppies confined. Every entry in my house, including the bedroom doors, has a gate. It's essential when you have children, like I do. My favorite aspect is that when the kids aren't around which isn't often, don't get me wrong, I can retract the gates and hide them. You have no idea how liberating it feels to go through a doorway without having to open and close a gate behind me; prior to retractable gates, I hadn't done so in 3 years. The new locking mechanism is simple to use with one hand for adults but difficult for toddlers. 1. To unlock, hold down both buttons with two fingers, pull up, and spin counterclockwise. 2. Pull the gate out and secure it to the catches. 3. The media could not be loaded.  thus gate was purchased for our rescue and as really helped when we have guests over. Our rescue is big and lovable but sometimes that's not always welcome especially the clingyness. This gate is made well and I do anticipate it will last us awhile. He does try to pull himself up on it and the gate holds up nicely. The installation of this gate went along rather easily too. The instructions provided were very comprehensive and easy to follow along on. The opening and closing can be done just with one hand. This will also work well with toddlers just learning to work too.

Perfect for dogs that do not jump up on gate. Keeps my Havanese from going down the stairs but he doesn't jump or go near it. If a child or dog was to push on the mesh like fabric it would probably ruin it. It retracts easily and works great for us.

This is a wonderful gate. I use it for pets. Now I admit my small shih-tzu, yorkie mix just slides under it. But she is a smarty pants but it keeps the other two right where they are intended. When open you dont even notice it. Love this

I thought this would be a great way to keep.my 2 dogs downstairs and not scratch at the door while I was gone. Unfortunately, it was not durable enough as my smallest dog ripped the gate on the top and managed to pull the screws with wall anchors out of the wall. Expensive for 1 use.

This was pretty easy to install and it is of good quality, it's perfect for keeping my non-jumping fat cat and dog on one side of the house while I have visitors..lol
