POLYVINE Quick-Dry Heavy Duty Interior Wood Varnish Dead Flat 100ml

Purchased this product to use on a wooden platter that had been overpainted with Acrylic Paints as a top for a decorative matching sidetable in the lounge for my cups of tea. Main reason selected this one is because it says it has a Heat & waterproof finish with a "cure" time of sixteen hours. The only reason I have given four is because it hasn't been tested with these elements yet but as the finish is mat it looks Ok other than the second coat has very faint brush lines that only appeared on the second coating of varnish but hopefully it will meet the other criteria.

Best product for use on air dry clay coasters when you don't want teeny tiny imperfections to be visible. All crafters know that satin and glossy varnishes show everything but this dead flat varnish is the real deal!!! I think the photos i put up speak for themselves ;) It is beyond me how some people say in their reviews it wouldn't be dead flat and would leave a sheen which is absolutely NOT TRUE! I just put it on with a soft brush, not too thick and gave it a quick dry with a hair dryer, applied a second coat and let it sit and cure overnight....that's all what is to it. The results are amazing! The darker coasters actually had a satin varnish on which showed everything....I went over it with this dead flat varnish twice and it fixed it.

Used to seal an old Oak upcycled table.. wanted a matt effect as in no sheen and heat resistant was important Very easy to apply , quick drying ,no colour change to the wood. Not tested for heat yet. Wipes down and is waterproof. No smell or strong vapours. Used on another upcycled painted chest of drawers left a slight tint on the painted surface which I didn't mind ..varnish tested on white card was clear... On white matt emulsion paint it dried very slightly tinted brown can only assume a reaction with paint. Please note best to order a 500ml as it's twice the price and better value than that of the 100ml bottle!! That option wasn't clearly visible in my opinion. I got a lovely wooden coaster that I wanted to use but keep nice so I decided to put a few layers of varnish on it. This was described as being heat resistant and waterproof so I thought it would be perfect. So far so good. The coaster has had both heat and tea on it and it has been fine. I've been able to wipe the tea off and not removed the varnish. I'm happy with it plus I've got loads left and it can be used in my hobby of cardmaking.

It's a nice easy to apply varnish, just enhances the wood
