Prima Taste Laksa La Mian, 185g, (Pack of 12)

I really like this product. It's different than other noodles and has a very slight spiciness. If you find that you don't have anything for dinner, you will likely have a package of this around, and you won't be sorry for that. You can add things like mushrooms, scallions, or shrimp, plus other ingredients to your taste. Do cook this the way the package says. I had no issues with digestibility, and I'm unsure what may cause that for someone. The spiciness is mild, and I'm someone who has a problem with lots of heat.

So good. In another universe from most instant ramen, but just as easy and quick to prepare. However, it does contain a ton of sodium, so watch out for that.

Prima Taste Laksa La Mian is the top rated instant ramen noodle product as rated by TheRamenRater. Some people might balk at the price which averages $40 for 12 packs or $3.33/pack. Compared to the budget ramen noodle packs that sell for around $0.50/pack at the supermarket, that's a fair argument. This ain't that. It's fairer to compare this to a supermarket single frozen meal because that's more what this is. This is cheaper than the average frozen meal. Some families might find it enough for two people as a meal--especially if shrimp and some Asian veggies are added. Unlike the budget ramen seasoning pack that was cooked up in a Frankenchicken laboratory, this has a soup base pack with a paste made of an array of herbs and spices and a big pack of coconut milk powder. There's a bigger brick of noodles than what comes in the budget brand that are a little thicker and chewier. Just at an ingredient level, this is a more substantial product. This ramen noodle soup tastes more like something that would be sold in a fancy restaurant. That's not to say that there's anything wrong with budget ramen noodles. I like them and they're fine and are perfectly good for the price. Nobody's going to finish them thinking they've just completed a meal at a fine restaurant. Prima Taste Laksa La Mian has a richer more exotic flavor. My only complaint is that Laksa La Mian was a little too spicy for my taste buds. I'm a supertaster and spicy hot foods hit me harder than the average person. For me, this was about as hot as a medium Ortega taco sauce. There wasn't so much heat that I could not finish it and I was starting to get used to the heat by the time I was done. There was no heat aftertaste. I wouldn't order again for that reason even though I otherwise found the soup very tasty.

Lots of umami taste, if you don't like the shrimpy smell and the smell of good cheese, it may not be to your liking but I loved it.

Excellent product. Authentic taste

I’m a professed foodie and an ex-native. I’m very particular about the authenticity of any cuisine, even more so Singaporean, Malaysian and Indonesian (my Asian cuisines of choice). I’ve ordered this brand consistently in the last 5 years, I easily rate Prima Taste Laksa a solid 5. While this is an instant noodle it is in a class of its own! Is it pricey? Not for how delicious and high quality it offers, it’s a meal when done right can rival any Singaporean restaurant here in the United States. One packet easily serves 2 for a light lunch, noodle has a good chewiness and not soggy. For my taste, I like the intensity of the sauce so adjust the water according to your taste. I like to add fresh shrimp, tofu and half a hard-boiled egg. I recently experimented adding a tablespoon (or 2) of Homiah Sambal Shrimp Crispy Crunch to give it even more mouth fill as I remember the version I had growing up. For those adventurous foodies, try it. Instant Noodle may never be the same again.
