Awesome hub. I'm a DJ and I use it to connect my 2 Pioneer XDJ 1000 NI Kontrol F1 and NI Z2 mixer to my MacBook Pro. I have never had an issue always dependable. I even bought a second one for another set up. As a matter of fact I'm about to buy the 7 port since I added another controller to my set up. The charging port works great. I have charged iPhones, iPads, and my Samsung Galaxy S7. Highly recommended.

The title on the listing is deceptive. Sure, there are 7 holes that a usb plug fits, but only 4 of them are usb ports. The other 3 are charging ports only. I bought this hub because it uses a removable cable to connect to the PC. The fixed cables on other hubs are just too short. I'm happy with the construction but irritated by the 7 port description.

A desktop USB hub is an essential for most home uses, and probably now and then for the more innovative office settings. An absolute must is a AC to DC converter via a separate power supply. This one has got it. The length of the AC-DC adapter is more than half the width of the hub, so you'll need space for that puppy. (Similar to PC laptops -- not small Apple smartphone / tablet PSUs). What sets this unit apart is the design of the charging jacks on the top of the unit. Since these see more action than the data ports, it's better to see them more easily. The charging port specification: USB 3.0 A (Fast-Charge, 9 pin, SuperSpeed) Female. You get two ports with this unit. Don't you have two devices to charge right now as you're reading this? The activity lights work well, which I like for troubleshooting - as with the laptop-oriented smaller unit StarTech makes. (Though not for the uplink activity). Seven ports seems to be a magical number for desktop hubs (think George Miller's Seven Plus or Minus Two). That's the same as another unit I purchased from Amazon, though the competitive unit doesn't have any charging capability.

This is a total piece of junk. I have owned it since Jan 2015, it is now Oct 2015. I was running 4 ports on a Mac Pro. One port after another has failed over time. At this point--10 months later--absolutely not one port works. I thought the problem was the various USB devices, but alas, it is this piece of junk. No more Startech for me.

Fantastic product...!!!

I contacted StarTech support based in Canada about the hub defects (hub not recognizing flash drive, hub lights not working) on Windows 7 computer. StarTech technicians tried to troubleshoot the defects but failed. StarTech technicians acknowledged that this hub has limitations. Overall, I am not happy with the product. I do not recommend it.

Not enough power on USB 3 ports to drive external Apple DVD/RW.

To clarify further from sellers description, this USB hub is shipped with mains adapter and a variety of power connectors which clip in to the mains adapter. Also included are a mounting bracket, screws and a suitable USB cable.

J'ai acheté ce hub malgré le prix prohibitif afin d'avoir des ports qui délivrent suffisament de puissance pour mon iPad et iPhone et surtout le fait de pourvoir le fixer sous le bureau pour ne pas l'avoir sous les yeux avec tous les fils qui pendouillent. Oui mais voilà ; les 3 ports hautes puissances, ça recharge bien MAIS ÇA NE SYNCHRONISE PAS ! Donc retour au branchement sur le Mac afin d'avoir la recharge ET la synchro. Je pense que le descriptif pourrait être plus précis sur ce point ; en effet, quel est l'avantage d'avoir des ports qui ne font QUE la recharge si il faut mettre les ibidules sur un autre port pour synchroniser ???

電話機の買い替えに伴いUSB3.0のハブが欲しかったので探したところ、ちょうど条件にあったのがこれでした。 ポート数が多くてセルフパワー(ちゃんと充電にも使えるやつ)。 電源ボタンを押さないと使えないというトラップはあったものの(取説読んでなかった)、スマホのデータ転送も充電も問題なく行えており不満なしです。 電源アダプターはノートPCのようにちょっと大きいですが、給電能力を考えると多少は仕方ないでしょう。

Un mese fa, subito dopo l'acquisto avevo dato 5 stelle e scritto: "Ottimo hub che ho collegato al MacPro 2013. Robustissimo (tutto in metallo), veloce, e comodo per la presenza di tre porte per alimentare dispositivi USB, una 2A e due 1A." Ma qualche giorno fa improvvisamente è comparso un difetto, non accettava più le chiavette USB e neppure gli HD USB2, riuscivo a collegare solo gli HD USB3 da 2.5". Eppure nella descrizione si legge "Compatibile all'indietro con dispositivi USB 2.0 e 1.x". Di chiavette ne ho provate di diverse marche ma era lo stesso, non si accendeva la spia gialla e non venivano montate sul desktop. Poi mi è venuto un dubbio: l'alimentatore era collegato al gruppo di continuità APC-UPS, non direttamente alla rete. Collegato ad una presa normale l'HUB aveva ripreso a leggere anche le chiavette USB2. Visto che il problema sembrava l’UPS, ho deciso di non fare il reso... ----- Ho rischiato non facendo il reso e ora è troppo tardi. Di nuovo l’Hub Startech non legge più le chiavette USB, di nessuna marca, e neppure gli HD USB2, anche se collegato ad altre prese di rete. Ho provato sia con il MacPro 2013, che con il PC Asus acquistato alla fine del 2019 (vedi foto). Non potendo più fare il reso ho abbassato le stelle a 1
