Better light
This easel lamp provides daylight lighting for accurate colors, and it's easy to reposition. I like the lights because they are cool and last longer than the previous lights I used. The color of the light is better, also. I've been using one for a year with no problems. I've had no problems with the clamps-they clamp tightly to two different wood easels. I liked it so much that I bought another. I put the second on my portable easel and I use the two lamps to light large or small paintings when doing copy photography.

Nice light
My first light was flickering like a strobe light and wasn’t turning on with the first click of the button. After making sure everything was fitted correctly and it still not working, I decided to exchange it and the new light is much better. Haven’t had an issue with it. However, I only wish it would fit on the wider part of my easel. I only have two spots to clamp it onto (on the very left and the very right of my easel) which works for the time being but I can’t mount it in the center which would be the ideal place for me.

Nice bright light
Nice bright light, clamp is a little bulking but holding up well so far as a (large) headboard lamp. Surprisingly sturdy for plastic and holding its shape in spite of grabbing and dragging. Oddly the light generated by the bulb is not the what I consider full spectrum. The color looks more like CFL than the earlier OTT lights, too much yellow and not enough blue.

Plenty of perfect light
This really is the perfect light for me. It produces a true white light of perfect intensity. I paint acrylics on a floor easel. It moves as I raise the easel. It does not distort the colors. The bendable spine lets me pull it up or bring it closer.

Great light!
Love the light this gives me over my paintings! I ended up wrapping tape around my floor easel to hold it on better but I don't care what it looks like as long as it functions for my hobby. It does make a world of a difference. I highly recommend it.

Suggestion to Serious Artists
I am a painter and nothing is more important to me than strong daylight. For years I have used two OttLite pole lamps, one on each side of the canvas, now taped together because the tubes fell apart. So I thought that an OttLite easel lamp might be the way to go. It wasn't.. I bought one (elsewhere) and returned it: Clunky, bad design, and low quality. OttLite and their incredibly expensive bulbs have been the only game in town for years, but things have changed. Really good LED daylight bulbs are dirt cheap (Some are better color than others---I am using Philips) and these can go into any reflectors. I put two pretty much indestructible Smith-Victor 12" reflectors, with 100w LED equivalent bulbs, onto a couple of old tripods.. They are big but portable and I carry them around the studio. This 200w. is great studio light. I will never buy another high-priced OttLite and suggest to my fellow painters that they would do well to explore the new LED options. We're being had.

It's also surprisingly easy for the arm to come out of the clamp ...
The light is really bulky and not as flexible as I hoped. It's also surprisingly easy for the arm to come out of the clamp housing. I taped around base to make the fit tighter. The light is a slightly different temperature than my other Ott lamps, but so far this hasn't been a problem. I do wish the clamp would fit a wider post, maybe 2.5", so I could use it elsewhere in my studio.

Support avec maintien solide
Lampe très bien conçue avec un support qui offre un maintien solide. Bon éclairage malgré une seule possibilité de luminosité.

Sad
Love this light just can not use it when Mother and Sister are in the room. Just adding the light broke already since I tried too move it and tighten it and it snapped and would not tighten and in had a broke piecen of white plastic fall out of it.

perfect lighting
I needed this light because my little sudio is in a basement bedroom. It gives me the perfect lighting. It also attaches very well to my easel.

Nice lamp, a bit of a challenge
I bought this for my easel a year ago and I like it for working at night or in low light conditions. I do find it somewhat heavy and awkward and manoeuvring the arm is a bit of a challenge for proper adjustments. I think the design should be re-worked so that these issues are addressed, making it more user friendly.
