This thing is amazing. I used it on my very matted up almost Rastafarian dog. This thing is like a bunch of steak knives welded together, you just gently pull it with a jiggling motion and it cut the knots into pieces which then comb out with little tugging. If you are tugging you have it angled wrong. The tips are blunted so you don't have to worry about cutting the skin, even on ears and tail.

Unquestionably the BEST dog grooming tool I've ever used! My small poodle mix was covered in fur matts. I was despairing of ever getting rid of them. I saw the ad for this tool but was skeptical that anything could possibly take the matts out. Imagine my surprise and joy as I gently pulled this device through her fur and gradually trimmed off those matts! It was so effective, my beautiful baby didn't even mind the process - in fact, she even got to lying still and quietly enjoying it! I felt we were bonding while I stroked and removved the matts. I absolutely LOVE this tool and wholly recommend it!!!!

My dog's groomer recommended this for use on my standard rough collie because of her long coat. It makes regular combing so much easier than most of the tools in my bag. A simple comb-out to neaten up after using this tool leaves my collie's golden coat soft and flowing. It's also makes my sweeping job easier because of all the heavy undercoat that doesn't leave so many fuzzballs everywhere.

I recommend this product 100% We recently adopted a 1.5 yr old Great Pyranese and the poor guy has some pretty bad matting going on. I reached out to a groomer and long time Great PYR owner who recommended Paw Brothers Stainless Steel Blade Dematting Tool. I was so excited when I got it in the mail as you can see...the seller's tag is still on it. I used it before I even took review photos. This dematter has been AMAZING! This is our third day having it and as you can see the bag of fur in one of the pictures... we have had 6 of those bags full of what I have gotten off of him. We still have more sessions to go. I would say the only downfall is I wish there was one that both myself (right-handed) and my left-handed husband could use. It is easy to hold and it does the job as gently as possible. The handle grip is well made and my hand doesn't slip. The thumb placement can be used to get a better grab when dealing with heavier matting. The blades are adequately sharp and seem tight in place with no movement. I recommend giving yourself and your pup a break after about 20-30 minutes just so their sensitive skin and your hand can rest. Always wash your tools when done. I hadn't cleaned the de-matting brush yet in the pictures. Wipes really easily but mind the blades. It comes with a little blade cover..Use it!
