Anchor Hocking, Mug Cafe Crystal 16 Ounce

I’ve had this mug for nearly one year and I use It almost single every day. It’s my favorite (puleeeze, don’t tell the other mugs). So, today when it fell off the plate I was carrying it on, onto the hardwood floor, I just knew it was a goner. (Did I mention that this is my favorite mug?) The little glass dish holding my discarded tea leaves also slipped off the plate…completely shattered (RIP little glass dish, thank you for your service). But the glass mug…what happened to the GLASS MUGGGGG?! There it was laying on its side mocking the hardwood floor…FULLY INTACT!!! Not one scratch, fissure, break or chip…nada! If that doesn’t speak to its superior quality and good moral character, I don’t know what could! Although I read reviews, I RARELY ever write one (a fact I’m not proud of; so please don’t judge me or judge me, I don’t care…YOU DON’T KNOW MY LIFE). But for this, my favorite mug, survivor of a harrowing, death defying fall, I just had to…as a tribute if nothing else! SPOILER ALERT: I’m going to purchase another one because holeeee crap this is a great mug!

It's a great cup, but very expensive

Had a small crack in the base and they replaced it in a day!! It is the perfect size for coffee! We love it!

I purchased this item to replace my favorite tea mug which cracked recently. I like a good heavy glass mug for tea. The item description made this one sound similar but it really did not satisfy me. The glass is not as thick as I thought it would be, although still sturdy. The craftsmanship seems shoddy at best. There is a very clear seam along the sides of the mug, the rim is not even and has a large divot in line with the handle, and the very top of the handle has a substantial bump right where my thumb goes.However the really disturbing issues have to do with the misleading product description (and pricing). The price of this "item" was $29.00. One would usually expect that $29.00 is for more than ONE mug. The product description under product features says:Product Features6 Per Case16 Oz.So one would expect this to be a case of 6 mugs. Furthermore, under Product Details it says:Item Weight: 7 poundsShipping Weight: 7 pounds (View shipping rates and policies)Once again this would seem to indicate that this is about the right weight for 6 glass mugs.When I received the package, I was surprised to find ONLY ONE mug and the actual weight of my package was only 1.5 pounds. By the way, I realize this product is available from many vendors, and my purchase was from ACE Hardware.So overall I would NOT recommend this product due to the low quality craftsmanship, HIGH price, and very misleading description. I am shipping it back today.

Loved that it holds a lot of hot

I like to drink tall cups of coffee out of my Keurig coffeemaker. Problem is that most coffee cups don't accomadate that much liquid without becoming too full. This nice, classy looking glass is heavy and can hold its liquid. Washes really easily and fits nicely in my hand. The molded base also makes it very sturdy where ever you set it down. Other reviewers are correct that there is a visibile line from where the glass is molded. If you want 110% visual perfection, look elsewhere. However, if you want a sturdy, heavy duty glass coffee mug, then this is for you. I try to be a savvy shopper and this was the best deal I could find for 4 sturdy 16oz. coffee mugs. I am not disappointed with this product whatsoever.

I bought these as a gift to myself--I had always wanted clear coffee mugs because I think they make coffee-drinking an aesthetic experience. I also think about drinking coffee far, far too much.I wanted mugs that held more than the usual 6-oz. coffee mugs, and these came through with a perfect 16-oz. size. It's like the just-right size mug of coffee for the morning--not too much and not too little.Even when I pour in piping-hot just-brewed stuff, the handle and very bottom never get hot, so I don't burn my hand or my coffee table. They are thick and sturdy and resistant to breaking, and are, of course, perfectly dishwasher safe.Best of all, they add a nice sense of charm when you serve someone a mug and pour a bit of cream into the coffee. All those swirls!

I love these mugs. Like everything I have from Anchor Hocking, they are substantial physically. They are almost indestructible, a blessing to a proven klutz like me. Most importantly they are easy to scrub. Like most folks, I have had dozens (hundreds?) of brightly colored or humorously imprinted "stoneware" mugs but, without exception, those that survived my tender ministrations, quickly became stained by coffee until a scrubbing sponge wouldn't remove the staining; resorting to a Brillo pad works but I was always uncomfortable imagining what was underneath the thin glaze; materials including who knows what from who knows where. These, so ugly that they are cute, glass mugs wash clean with a normal sponge and I sleep better no longer wondering what was leaching into my coffee.

This is a solid product, nice weight, and perfect capacity for a long cold or hot drink. Good my favourite smoothies and latte's too!

Café Mug is a reasonably large glass mug for drinking hot drinks from.WHAT YOU GET:The mug (or mugs if you're planning on purchasing more than one) arrives tightly packaged in a thick roll of bubblewrap all within a standard postage bag. No other packaging (such as any labelling or branded cardboard packaging) accompanies the mug(s).THE ITEM:The first thing you notice about the 16 Oz. Café Mug is its size and weight. The glass used is a good 5mm thick with the handle being in the region of 1cm in thickness. This obviously gives the mug plenty of weight to it. Size-wise the mug measures approximately 12.5cm in height (although the product listing states 11cm), with a diameter of approximately 9.5cm (plus 4cm for the handle).However, it's the amount that the glass mug can hold that really stands out about the mug. It's got a considerably larger capacity than your standard mug. As such, if you're planning to have mostly tea from the mug, then you'll probably want to bear in mind the size of it before purchasing.SUMMARY:My wife purchased a couple of these mugs for us a month or so back, predominantly for drinking fruit and green tea from (it's my new 'thing'). Admittedly, she didn't realise the mugs would be quite so large. But to be honest, as it turned out we're both more than happy with their size. For my fruit teas I find that I only need fill the mug halfway for the strength that suits me. And I've also got the option to put two bags in and have a large fruit tea to end the evening with.The mugs are very well made, feeling strong, sturdy and very durable (for a glass mug that is). Dropped on a carpet I doubt there would be any damage to them. Although on a tile or wooden floor would probably be a different story.The mugs are dishwasher safe (ours have been through the dishwasher numerous times and look absolutely fine afterwards). They also look reasonably contemporary and perhaps a little stylish.So all in all both my wife and I are really very happy with the glass café mugs.

I placed this order thinking that there would have been 4 mugs, but in fact there was only 1. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift and now I have to pay to return this and buy something else. Your technical info says 4. Change this before someone else orders this thinking they are getting 4. $23.00 for one mug is a little much.

Ever since I went to Amsterdam and was served tea in a pint glass, I have LOVED the taste of tea out of glass! This mug is really study! The base is secure and the weight of the mug is very comforting. It washes easily and it looks really cool when I pour milk in my tea (yes, milk in last you HEATHENS).The delivery was quick and it was packaged in an acre of bubble wrap so it was perfectly safe in transit as well. Very impressed!
