Purchased this little one to teach newborn wrapping for newborn photography so needed a doll as life-like as possible, but affordable, you know? A little smaller than expected, however, I added bean bags to the head and torso of the vinyl body, so with the added weight, she feels more like a newborn. The hair could use some improvement, but a hat or bow do a good cover job. Despite looking entirely different from the photo, I'm keeping her as she is just still so lovely.

The doll in the picture is not what I received,the doll I received also had a thumb up as to appear to be sucking but the dolls mouth is not opened so that was a complete waste of forming. The video for this doll shows more silicone doll not a hard vinydoll like we received false advertisement. The diaper included is way too large it's too big for the doll. The hair on the doll in the pictures is tolerable but the doll we received had horrible unstyliable hair. The doll is really ugly without a head covering of some kind because the hair is horrible. The description says vinyl silicone but that's a lie there is no silicone whatsoever in this doll it's all vinyl. I really want to return this doll but I'm past my return date (I was doing this thing we call life and my return date came and went). Beware the description may describe a doll but it's most certainly not this one. Not satisfied with this purchase at all. There was no accessories included except the over sized diaper it was not a preemie diaper and it should have been. Was not at all what we expected. Just made a bad choice with this one.

Curious Baby Sophia was a little too lightweight for my taste, but after putting sealed baggies of clean dry sand inside her head, body and legs, adding about 2 lbs to her weight, she now feels like a real baby. Now when holding her, it now feels natural to support her head with one hand. I didn’t want add too much sand to the head cavity, because I think if you did the head would fall off. 😉 Note: This was a gift for an adult. I would not add the sand/weight if it was for a young child. I also wanted to dye her hair darker for a personal reason, so I posted the question asking if her hair could be dyed. The seller answered “yes” without explaining just how one might actually dye her hair. I should’ve rephrased that question to ask specifically if the material the hair is made of can be dyed using human hair dye. I now know the answer to that is “no.” While the doll’s hair looks and feels very similar to real hair, it’s synthetic and it can’t be dyed that way. I tried. It was a fail. 👎🏻 The color did not stick. Then I tried a suggestion I saw online about using an acrylic paint mixture. I tried that, but it made the hair texture so strange that I quickly aborted and washed it out. Finally I tried using a dark brown permanent marker (Sharpy), by inking a little at a time, then sliding the inked strands between my pinched fingers to distribute the color evenly. It worked. I don’t know if the color will wash out, but I’m not worried as the recipient is unlikely to be washing her hair. One of the reasons I chose her was because of her name. In the description she is “Curious Baby Sophia.” The name would have been meaningful to the recipient. So I was disappointed that the doll’s name appears nowhere in the packaging. It’s not printed on the box nor anywhere inside the box. It comes with a blank birth certificate. The name “Sophia” is only in the ad. I did notice a chemical or factory smell on her. That will never do! A baby must smell like a baby (or at least not like chemicals). So I washed her with Dawn and left her out to dry for a day and that helped. Then I put lots of baby powder on her body overnight to add a baby scent, but I had to run her under water to rinse the powder out of all the crevices. (this baby has been keeping me busy!) Having read the reviews before buying, I was already expecting her to be more stiffly vinyl than squishy silicone. She is somewhat soft and flexible in the fingers and toes but not much squishier in the flesh than any vinyl doll you would buy at the store. In other words, if you push her cheeks together, it squishes our whole head eyes and all, like a fish. The cheeks are not squishy. But the skin is smooth with realist pigment and detail on the body. Her details are beautiful. She has realistic features, pretty eyes with a real eyelashes and baby fine hair on her head. Her fingers and toes look very real. Her anatomically correct details are subtle, just enough to show gender. She does have jointed arms and legs so could be positioned to sit up, and while a real newborn would not be able to sit up like that, she can. ☺️ She’s special. And her head can be turned. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend, as long as you read the description and know exactly what you’re getting. The item description was accurate. I will update this l review to include a photo after her new clothes arrive tomorrow.

This doll looks nothing like the pictures and hair is cheap. Im assuming it won't be durable either. Contemplating return. Outrageous price for this doll.

Really cute. Hair is BAD. Put on baby cap on. For the money its good. Soft feel sweet face and feet. Girls live her.
