Quality Product. No Idea what those complaining about it were smoking???
I rarely write reviews. But there are times when it seems necessary, if not only to promote the quality of a product, but to challenge the inadequacy of other negative reviews. From the reviews of the nay-sayers who've whined regarding the flimsy quality of the plastic backing, I'm flummoxed. I bought three rolls of this stuff prepared to be working in my socks for the entirety of the project. So I laid out my first run with a 'kid gloves' mentality. And for no reason. The plastic backing is tough. I've walked across and over it (in boots) for the better of three days with the result of zero damage to the material. I've laid down multiple lengths of flooring to allow it to climitize and still no damage. Finally, I've installed some 1200 square feet of 'click' flooring, and still, with no damage. I really don't know what these other installers were doing given their complaints of damage or the ripping or tearing of the material. As for the difficulty of cutting the material, ????. All I can guess is that these DIY'ers are less competent than the average bear (fyi: coming from a seasoned professional with decades of experience). Simple application. I lay it into and up against the edges and corners. I use the blunted edge of something (scissor handles work well) to achieve a crease. Taking a razor knife, I slice a line through the plastic backing at the crease to achieve a template for cutting. I then take a decent pair of scissors and cut along my templet. A bit of fine tuning results in a clean functional fit. I could have simply used the razor knife for the complete cut, but couldn't remember where it was I'd placed my supply of blades. No doubt they'll appear soon enough now that I've finished the install. The product was delivered intact with no damage. As I've stated, this stuff is tough. I can only see that it'd take a whole lot of abuse to damage it in transit as some describe. At that point, send it back and let UPS deal with the fallout. Finally, as for the complaint that there were numerous times where lengths had been patched together with tape. Not in my experience. I bought the big rolls and having worked through three of them, there was no seaming. The rolls were complete and intact, arriving as a single run. Now for the product. Excellent. That adhesive strip and the overlapping plastic made for a quick effective seaming. As stated, the plastic backing is tough and adheres strongly to the fiber matting. The matting, itself, is a consistent and firmly compacted substrate (about 1/4"), which rolls out easily and cuts without too much hassle. The uniformity of the product made for an excellent substrate, one devoid of irregularities. All in all, the installation was a breeze. Other than my assistant (bless'm) forgetting to shut one bedroom window, which resulted in some square footage being soaked by an overnight squall, all went without a hitch (fortunately had enough flooring remaining to replace the damage. Bamboo just don't much like water). Would I use the stuff again? Definitely. Any complaints? Zero. Would I recommend the product? Absolutely, given that it was one proper for the application.

Brilliant stuff! Very pleased with Product.
I bought 800 sqft, two rolls big and heavy, but that's what I expected. Rolled one out after taking measure measurements, perfect straight along both edges, so measuring and marking for cuts was fine. This underlay is heavy duty and you should purchase a nice set of fisk scissors for the task, otherwise you may struggle with a craft knife (stanley) or other scissors. The underlay stays put when down which was a huge help, as I was covering quite a space, just have to adjust at times so it was snug in corner etc. They're not kidding about sound reduction and absorbing, I wear size 15 boots and you could hardly hear it when walking on the laminate later. Joining the strips together was a breeze and if you make an error overlapping the lip to the sticky strip, it's easily lifted and adjusted, just don't press too hard when first marrying the two together. Would I recommend this product? 100% I would, doesn't tear, have bumps or move when cutting, excellent padding for a great price. I do hope this helps you choose what is appropriate for your particular job or DIY. I will post some pics, they're on my tablet later today. =)

Awesome product
Comes in 5ft wide but still 360!sq feet to the roll. Great size for our purposes. Has the pre taped strip on one side and pre seamed edge on the other. Simple straighten and pull the adhesive cover off as you go. Beautiful to work with. This blanket is supper thick, super stable. Seems best to score the plastic with a box cutter and then shear it with nice heavy scissors. We used it as underlayment for our quiet warmth floor heaters, under new engineered hardwood. Smoothed out our rough subflooring and made for a quiet and warm install. There was plenty of thickness for the cutouts for wiring and floor sensor. The plastic coat seems to be durable enough for the abuse of the install and we even moved some furniture around on it with cardboard protection of course. The square foot cost is lower. The product is as least as thick, and the seam and tape system is convenient and saves time and $$ Very pleased.

Underlayment that doesn't break the bank - yet performs like the others
I've used this product on three flooring projects and find it a fantastic alternative to more expensive brands. It has performed well for me. Couple things to be aware of. First don't try to cut with a knife. The fibrous felt padding will shred before it cuts. I use fabric scissors and they cut like butter. Also note that, yes, the plastic vapor barrier is thin and will rip if you catch a wood plank on it, or wear work boots or shoes with a heavy tread. We wear flat bottom sneakers without any issues. We also only install the rolls as we go. Roll out a section or two and then install planks, add more rolls, followed by more planks. This helps keep traffic off the plastic. Lastly, it's not real clear but the 100sf roll a completely different size (44") than the 360 sf roll (60"). This is stated in the advert if you look close enough, but it caught us by surprise when we needed just a bit more underlayment to finish this last job and ordered the smaller quantity. Wasn't really a problem, just a surprise.

Thick, good price for a good product, quick shipping. Hard to cut!
Pros: 1. Great sound protection (the laminate I put down doesn't sound hollow) 2. Thick 3. Good features for the price 4. Easy to roll out and lay down Cons: 1. Difficult to cut. I used multiple different tools to try cutting this stuff. I used different types of scissors, exacto knives and a box cutter. The easiest thing I found to use was a box cutter on cement, with a straight edge. The box cutter was best, because you can break off, to new blades easily, as they dull very quickly. I'm glad I decided to go with this product and will use it again if I put laminate in other rooms.

Great underlayment for concrete slab
I have installed over 5000 sq feet of engineered hardwood flooring over the last two years and this is the best underlayment I have worked used. I have used the Roberts Serenity Foam and Roberts Unison Premium underlayments. The pros of the Super felt is the durability when you are laying it down and the ease in which it rolls out. The con is that it is not easy to cut. As other reviewers have stated, if you don't have a really GOOD heavy duty scissors, but one. You will not be able to easily cut this with a utility knife. I installed this on a concrete slab floor and not only does it protect the engineered hardwood, it has a lovely "dead" sound when you walk on the flooring so you don't have that sound you hear when you walk on non-solid hardwood floors. If I didn't have to have a vapor barrier, I would of gone with the Roberts Unison Premium, It is worth the extra money over the Serenity Foam

As good as it gets, and reasonably priced!
This is a high quality underlayment that will work well with just about any floating floor situation you're working with. It comes in a 5' roll so it's a load to handle, but that works out well for you as you start laying it down. It stays where you put it and doesn't lift or blow around if you should have a fan running. Sound dampening is excellent, and it doesn't give a hollow sound when you walk on it with healed shoes, which has caused me to pull flooring up in the past to replace underlayment. It's good stuff, and it's priced for just about any budget.

great
great stuff. Only complaint is that there were some areas where the cushion was bunch up. Not in a way that you would expect from just being rolled wrong, where there would be a wrinkle or something. This was in a way where structurally there was more fabric pressed into one area which made like a seam, a 1/2" think worm running 6-8 inches long. Hard to explain, but had to cut it out. The green moisture barrier is not very resilient. If you slide your hammer across it while trying to hammer the board in place it sometimes will tear there moisture barrier. All in all though it is really a great product. Thick and really help with the sound and giving the floor a nice soft feel. Used it to lay vinyl planks over tile to soften the grout lines and it def did that. Two thumbs up.

Excellent Underlay Product
Excellent high density wools felt underlay. We used this under our new Prego Max hardwood in a floating application in our basement (on top of Barricade®️ Subfloor. Product is terrific as it provides a softer feel and denser sound to the flooring taking any “click” out of it.

No noise, no selfleveling
I used it under 12mm laminate AC4. No noise anymore. It fills up very well the little concrete imperfections because it's well cushioned and that without making the laminate more flexible. Strongly recommended. Have good scissors/cutter.
