I like the diet advice as I found it useful
Am currently doing his 12 week and got this for any ancillary information. All in all it filled a hole in knowledge on some questions that I have. I like the diet advice as I found it useful. He clearly though, explains why he loathes meal plans in both books. The meal plans are meant as general guidelines on what your diet should look like. Its the same trainer, same person doing the workouts, so some of the content is similar, which I can't fault. What I enjoy most about it, is that it is truthful, in that, its a hard program in the gym, and demands focus and determination in dieting. So I enjoy that as opposed to all the clutter out there.I have the kindle version which is probably more difficult from a formatting perspective, but at the end of the day its about the content and the exercises and beautiful kindle formatting isn't really an issue for me.

It is full of great advice and a ton of exercises
If you really want results then get this BOOK! It is full of great advice and a ton of exercises. I did not follow the program completely but the first two weeks I saw great results! So I followed the program until about week 7 then I changed directions with the plan and amped it up and within 15 weeks I have lost 18 lbs and broke through areas I was not making progress before. Nick Mitchell is an amazing trainer, though the book can be challenging to figure out exactly how to use it, there are great results waiting for you once you unlock it how to use the book. I am also vegetarian and I have packed on plenty of lean muscle still.

First Draft
Ok like any good book you have to begin with a good story. The Joe Warner story fits this story nicely and has a happy ending. This is a good start and will be even better with some updates. That being said there are some nuggets worth harvesting from Nick's years of experience. Things to work on: 1. The 12 week grid is a good start for beginners but needs to be further developed. For example there are three separate pictures of Joe and Nick working out. In each case they are performing an exercise not prescribed in the book?!? Joe is pushing a sled in one pic and pulling in another but there are no sled exercises in any of the workouts. I have looked at Nick's website and youtube channel numerous times. In each there are multiple examples of the UP workout regimen which don't even remotely resemble the workouts in the book. So the inconsistency is very troubling to me. 2. The shazam feature does not work on the kindle version. 3. The diet doesn't go far enough and makes recommendations for a 200lb male over a 4 week period but stops short of giving a conversion for any other weight or for that matter women. There is a disclaimer regarding this but I think it is a short cut and giving examples of the multiple clients Nick has transformed over the years would have helped. Overall I think nothing really new is revealed, no secrets have been unveiled. In fact, I revisited Arnold's classic encyclopedia was still blown away how timeless his book continues to be. If I were Nick I would hire someone to tease out all the details and include more examples of transformations in addition to Joe. I followed everything as best as I could and definitely had some decent results.

A must have. A must read.
It’s a bible. Tells you why to eat “what you eat” and gives you the explanation to WHEN you eat if that makes any sense.Solid workout plans that are easy to follow, with a glossary of images/descriptions of the workout.A wealth of information. Used it. It worked. Highly satisfied. Recommended it to others who are also seeing results.I would reread it every week and pick up something that I may have missed, which helps further understanding of what you are doing.

Don't buy the kindle edition. Get the hard copy.
Content of the book is great. Entails a detailed workout plan that you can customize for yourselve as well as invaluable advice and strategies on nutrition and training. Would have given 5 stars but will go with 3 on the kindle addition as the kindle edition is real junk in terms of setout and layout compared to the hard copy. Purchase the hard copy, its a world apart from the miserable kindle edition.

Good Manual for Those Needing a Step-by-Step Plan
For years, I would go into the gym and have no idea what to do. I went to personal trainers and they were friendly but too expensive to get into a rhythm with--and were rarely interested in seeing a regimen that I could do myself. If you're a person who needs a plan to follow and clear instructions in movements, this is a great guide. I have seen the most growth and fitness potential with this plan than with anything I had done before. I'm done with Week 7 now and am looking forward to seeing the full change. You probably won't look like the man on the cover afterwards but you will see remarkable progress. Most of the movements can be found at simple gyms; however, my only complaint is that there are usually a movement or two each week that cannot be replicated. There are plenty of online resources, though, to find alternatives.
