LEOFOTOMini ball head F-19

I'm pleasantly surprised at how solidly this mini ball head is built.Its all-metal construction is welcome. (The internal shim that locks the ball head likely is polymer/delrin.)I have more expensive Novoflex mini ball heads, and the Leofoto feels just as solid...and reliable.The ball head locks securely when the lever is tightened. No movement. No creep.I mounted this onto my camera hot shoe, screwed on an Arca-compatible clamp on the 1/4"-20 male thread (removed included cold shoe), then topped with my smartphone clamped onto the Leofoto PS-4 stand with Arca-compatible base to photograph/video simultaneously on camera and phone.Although it worked well, for my application, I should've gotten the MBH-19 with the independent panning feature. Being able to lock in the tilt/angle, then adjust only the pan separately would've made things easier and quicker.With this F-19 ball head, any adjustment requires a resetting of both the tilt/angle and panning. Plus, the 90° tilt opening for the ball will not center along the lens's axis.Do I like this? Yes.Would I buy this again? Yes. Other Leofoto products? Yes.Would I recommend this? Yes.This and other Leofoto products are priced much more reasonably, in my opinion, compared to other, big-name competitors' offerings. And they also have frequent sales that reduce their prices further...

Der Kugelkopf lässt sich schon mit wenig Kraftaufwand festziehen.Ich nutze ihn für eine Sony RX10 IV, welche sich nach dem Festziehen noch um einige Millimeter nach unten neigt, bevor sie dann zum Stillstand kommt, da allerdings auch fest bleibt.Auf Grund der Bauweise ist die RX 10IV für einen solchen Kugelkopf recht anspruchsvoll, da sich das 1/4 Gewinde am hinteren Rand des Kameragehäuses befindet und das Objektiv sehr schwer ist.Mit einer besser austarierten Kamera sollte dieser Kugelkopf keinerlei Probleme haben.

It’s flexible enough and works fine. It won’t always stay in place with heavier objects, like large camera flash.

i currently have mine inverted on a super clamp, replacing the cold shoe adapter with an arca clamp. it locks up solid and does what a mini ball head needs to do. it's actually so reliable, i have no issues with mounting my GFX 50S on it in a pinch. the long neck also gives it extra clearance when mounted inverted and the locking lever is ratcheting, letting you get good leverage to really snug it down.my only complaint would be the panning base being made of a material too soft to be resilient when tightening the locking lever, creating divots that can mess with the direction of the head. this seems to be a common problem amongst mini ball heads as the locking lever is being asked to do too much in a small space. just ignore the panning function and you should be good to go.
