K&N quality as always
Didn't really notice a performance increase. Just knowing it is a K&N filter is piece of mind. Been using their products for over 30 years. Not one issue on any of the products in that amount of time.

Perfect fit, cheaper than the Toyota TRD part
I got one of these for my wife's new 2014 Tacoma Prerunner TRD. I also had one for her 2005 Tacoma, and I have one for my 2008 Corvette I've read reports that these filters are less restrictive and installing one of these will give you slightly better horsepower and torque, and improve your gas mileage. I like them because they are reusable which over a few years will end up saving you money.Once a year I pull them out and clean them with the k & n air filter cleaning kit, which you can also find here on Amazon. For the Tacoma and my Corvette, I also pull out the MAF Sensor (Mass Airflow) and clean it at the same time, using the special MAF sensor cleaning spray, available at most auto stores. Most recent year cars have a MAF sensor, and cleaning them is relatively easy as well. Be very careful when squirting clean the MAF sensor, it is easily damaged and expensive to replace. I found a video on YouTube which helped.By the way, Amazon has the best price for both the air filter and cleaning kit. When you buy the filter, it has already been pre-oiled, so you can just install it.

Cheistmas gift - K&N like it
I have put a K&N air filter it my last 7 or 8 cars. For some reason I have not done this for my (beater truck) Tacoma. This new type of filter from K&N is fantastic. Maybe it's just me but I think the performance is improved a little bit and the sound is enhanced as well. Very satisfied, recommended.

May be more porous than others
Good quality filter - seems the filter paper is more open than some white fibre filters which may let more particulate through.

Hail the air apparent
I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with the V-6 engine and was getting around 17.5 mpg combined city/highway. After installing this filter, that figure increased to 19mpg. That may not seem that impressive, but I drive 25,000 miles a year and that translates to over 100 gallons of fuel saved which equals over $350 (at least) in just the first year. Couple that with the fact that this filter will last over 100,000 miles with just routine cleaning once a year (you do need to use their special cleaner but that's cheap enough at around $12 or so) and you can save a bunch of money. While the performance gains are quite modest (let's face it- no air filter is going to turn a mid sized pick-up into a dragster), there is a noticeable increase in acceleration which is a nice bonus given that I bought it solely for fuel economy. Installation is not any more challenging than putting in a new regular air filter which is to say that if you can open a bottle of soda without losing a limb, you should have no trouble putting this in your vehicle. This is the filter your vehicle should come from the factory with in the first place but since manufacturers are too cheap to do the right thing, make it right yourself and get this filter- it sucks, but only air. It's the best $40 you'll ever spend on your vehicle.
