I think someone forgot to put the "thermal" part inside. There's no way on earth that the coffee will stay hot because there's nothing "thermal" about this. I always put scalding hot water in the carafe just before putting the coffee in it (I dump the water, of course) and even our older carafe (same brand) keeps the coffee hot for most of the day (at least until dinner). This one that we just received yesterday must be defective because there's only one wall, NOT a double wall vacuum and the coffee was cold even before lunch! I'm not a happy camper. Previously gave it 5 stars because it actually does hold a 12 cup pot of coffee...but what goes it that if all the coffee gets cold before you can drink it?

Smelled like tea, but works as expected.
4 stars because I'm worried where this thing was before it came to me (packaging looked new, but it's not hard to re-pack). But It works very well, so I'd love to give it 5 stars.I'm trying to save my fridge by keeping my cold drinks cold in these things; In my warm office during the day as I drink my cold drinks.I bought this one and a Genuine Joe GJO11956 Stainless Steel Everyday Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Carafe, 2L Capacity at the same time, they both seem to be working fine, BUT this one smelled like TEA when I first got it, I washed it out a few times.I figure they are both made in China (I hear tea is big there) but the Genuine Joe (they are almost the same size) did not smell like tea, either I was sent a used XuGuang, or they test it by putting tea in it. I'm keeping cold items in it now.

Delivered on time and was well packaged so it arrived in perfect condition. It can hold a pot of coffee and will hold the heat for quite a long time - not all day but for several hours. The size isn't too large. It is easy to pour and the top removes fairly easily.

Lasted 2 days
Cover is difficult to install and leaks. After two uses, the top cover fell apart. I have returned for a refund.

Disappointing purchase
The lid lasted two days before it fell apart. The pot didn't keep coffee hot even when we jumped started it by heating it up with hot water before we put in the coffee.
