That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

The series is amazing and have loved every book so far. Starting to take a dark turn but no spoilers.

I bought this expecting the light novel but it was the manga. there was no clear demarcation on the product page and it was ocnfusing

Well from the start of Volume 13 of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, to the end of it it was pretty dark for the series. Don't get wrong I thoroughly enjoyed it, it just took me off guard. I wonder if this will be the tone for the series going forward. This is the closest we have seen Rimuru snapping, it's pretty tragic.Either way it's nice to have everything that has led up to the moment come back to play in interesting ways. It's been so long since we have had the monster village as part of the main plot and I have missed it so much. It turns out establishing a monster kingdom is a lot more complicated than it first than it might have appeared. And now it's looking like a peaceful kingdom might be just a far flung dream. Only time will tell, but for right now it seems that we are headed down a dark road. -MickManga

This volume can seem a bit short because there is not a lot of action in it: it is mostly a volume of setting the stage. It's not bad thereby, but some folks might feel somewhat disappointed. Rest assured that nearly everything is necessary, though - this definitely isn't filler.

I really love this series of books, highly recommended
