Evenings With Led Zeppelin

I own every edition of "The Concert File", which are the books that morphed into this. As always, the facts are there (and as accurate as they can be), however this time around there are pictures of the venues included, as well as ticket stub scans, additional concert dates, photos, and information about bootleg recordings. There is not much I can say about how great this book is, except that if you're into Led Zeppelin, and in particular are interested in the minutiae of concerts, recordings, and reviews from the time, get this book! It is just fantastic. I like to say that this book is as good as other recent Zeppelin books are bad....yeah, it's *that* good.Oh, and some of the concert reviews included from local publications at the time have to be seen to be believed. Here were these people, lucky enough to be able to witness the greatest, heaviest, most devastating band of all time - and all they could do afterward was write about the perceived musical slights of the members, the volume, their long hair, or John Bonham's drum solo (which never, EVER, ceased to entertain me for however long he bashed away). One particular reviewer of a show on 10/31/69 took dead aim at John Paul Jones, of all people, in a way that was almost maddening. The guy couldn't have been further off the mark about Jones, who was (is) always the consummate professional multi-instrumental secret weapon. That's probaby why I have heard of JPJ, but not the snarky reviewer who thought he was being oh-so-clever. This book is chock-full of crazy stuff like this. Highly recommended!!Edit/added fact: I meant to write I had seen the review by the poor guy who got the bum edition of this with the missing dates/pages. First of all, I hope you got either a refund or another copy. Secondly, I think what happened to you may have been a fluke, because mine definitely has all the dates in it. Good luck, fellow Zeppelin fan.

Full of facts!Must read!!

Author Dave Lewis does an amazing deep dive into the live experience of LED ZEPPELIN. Full of facts and photos I learned quite a bit about the band from this book. A must have for any fan of the greatest band in the world.

Well put together book by Dave Lewis who is still THE authority on the band sans the sensationalistic journalist asides. By now, this is outdated given the slew of new recordings that has been unearthed. Given as it may, there will be a revised version of this excellent release in the future. For those who are into the group's live gigs from the hard cores to the novices. Well worth the read...for now.

I have not been able to put this book down. I am impressed by the detail herein. A mammoth task for sure. Thank you Dave and Mike for the minutiae of detail. If your into Zeppelin, or rock for that matter, this is a must. No its not another story of the band, rather a road map of every show they had preformed from start to finish. The date, venue, setlist, and cool little notes about the shows along with reviews in the local papers. If you collect recordings of their shows, this is a must. This is a great addition to any music library.

This book is absolutely fascinating. Because it documents every show Led Zeppelin played, it provides a unique chronology and career overview for the band. It includes contemporary reviews and information related to bootlegs of the shows.

I gifted this book to a hard core and very critical fan, and he loves this book. He is very surprised at how unique and interesting it is - he never even knew it existed. Huge hit. I am also really surprised at how thorough and unusual the content is. Thrilled with this purchase!!

Great reference for Led Zeppelin concerts. Enjoyable, but will take a while to read all of the refences.

Das Buch ist ein Muss für Led Zeppelin-Fans stundenlanges Schmökern garantiert! Leider sind 40 Seiten doppelt, dafür fehlen die 40 Seiten, die anstelle der doppelten hätten da sein müssen…sehr schade und dafür gibt es einen Stern Abzug! Bei diesem Preis darf sowas nicht passieren!
