Another Quality Cable from NewFantasia
Build quality is decent as always from NewFantasia. I have been using them for my headphone re-cabling needs for a few years now and have always been very happy with their cables. The nylon sleeving keeps the cable stiff and tangle-free while still allowing full flexibility. It has the potential for microphonics against clothing among other things if you use these as mobile cables. That said it works fine for a desktop headphone amp. The 3.5mm TRS connector is beefy with great stress relief and the Sennheiser L/R connectors are as stout as they need to be. The screw-on 1/4" adapter is decently made and fits flush on the connector. This cable is plenty heavy-duty for home use with an amp.Have seen several reports of the connectors "being too soft" and bending or deforming when they are inserted. If you have to use enough insertion force to actually damage the cable, you are inserting it wrong, period. These insert easily into my HD580s and snap in and out crisply but need nowhere near enough force to damage anything. Maybe stop for a second and look at what you're doing before forcing a $400 pair of headphones to the point of damage? Just a thought. No perceptible difference in sound quality over the HD650 cable with my HD580. The 5 foot length is my main draw here as I find anything shorter way too short for my desktop amp and anything longer to be a nuisance. It's a rare length and NewFantasia makes pretty much all of their cables available in 5ft lengths. Being that they're otherwise very nice cables, that makes them a real must-buy for me. If there's an audible difference between cables at this short distance it usually means there's something wrong with one of the cables. At this level you shouldn't expect a difference. I bought this cable for functionality alone. Many report there being a clear difference between the HD600 and HD650 cables. I believe that's because some HD600 cables have an inadequacy somewhere. Either channel imbalance or an impedance issue or something. Sennheiser do not "tune" their cables. I have used many different cables in my time and have never heard a difference unless one cable had an issue. It's just copper passing electricity. Maybe some of the incredibly priced audiophile cables make a slightly noticeable difference, but nothing can really claim to be an outright improvement. This cables performs the expected function quite well. It looks good, is practical, and is decently built. Can't ask much more for the price.

Suprisingly Nice and We’ll Made, Audio Quality is Good Too
This is my first time a NewFantasia product but I figured for the price this replacement cable for the HD650 looked like something worth trying considering the reviews seemed positive for the most part. I have owned and enjoyed the HD650 for some time now and despite the fact that it comes with an excellent cable, it is a very long cable and must be adapted to 3.5mm from a 1/4 inch plug which isn’t ideal for more portable uses since the headphones can actually be driven with decent sound on most phones. The NewFantasia cable seems pretty well made. The braided portion has a nice red and black weave and feels very durable. It terminates into a nice metal 3.5mm jack with a spring to protect the end from hard bends. It also includes a screw on 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapter. On the other side the braided cable has a metal portion at the wire split and the cables split into nice rubber cables that run to the headphones. The plugs are small but you can feel which sides face outward when plugging in although there is no way to feel or see which plug is for which side without some light. The plugs are a little smaller than the stock cable but they fit very nicely into the HD650 ports.I’m not running a very high end setup with the iPhone 7 Plus(Apple Music 256kb/s AAC Tidal Lossless), the Schiit Fulla 2 Dac/Amp, and the HD650 but I haven’t noticed any degradation in the audio quality moving to these cables from the stock. I’m sure there could be a measurable difference but to my ears the difference seems to be mostly negligible. Overall I’m satisfied with the cable and considering how it sounds and comparing the cost to some of the higher end cables, I feel that the $18 I paid is reasonable. I’ll update my review should I run into any issues but otherwise I think this is a great cable and can recommend it.

Pretty good, one moderate flaw.
Outstanding quality, great length. Loses a point for the cheap-feeling screw on adapter, which does reduce the overall long-term use of the cable.

Read carefully, please. Recommended!
It pains me to read reviews from those who have had a bad experience and so I'd like to share my experience with this brand of cable. First off, this is my second New Fantasia cable and I have not had an issue with either cable. See, I purchased the first one a couple of years back to use at my desktop system. I don't wear my HD 600 headphones outside or take them on the go. I bought the shorter cable because the OEM cable was just way too long. When my cable arrived I did in fact find it to be a very snug fit and had to do a bit of fussing with it. I have never had an issue with performance as it is well constructed. Sound wise I haven't noticed it any better or worse than the OEM cable.I recently purchased a tube amplifier to use at my desktop and as my system has changed a bit I found that I needed to purchase a cable which was a bit longer in order to make it to the jack on the tube amplifier. It reached, but once I sis back in my chair it will tug on the amplifier.OK, so I got the cable this morning and I too struggled to to pull that first NewFantasia cable out and had to grab a pair of pliers. I gripped the ends of the cable firmly but gently enough and them gave a slight tug while carefully kind of rocking them side to side and both ends came out fully intact. Nothing damaged at all, and the best news is that once I pushed the new cable into each ear cup it went right in and is now much easier to pull out by finger yet secure enough to never fall out.All in all these are very nice yet inexpensive cables to have if you aren't one who buys into the idea of cables being inherently better based on price. Just don't be like a bull moose in a china closet!
