All-Clad Stainless Steel Pan with Lid, Silver, 1 Piece

I have this pan in this size as well as the larger 6-qt size. It is a fantastic kitchen tool; it heats evenly, the handle stays cool, and the shape is ingenious. Why other manufacturers aren't copying this shape is mind-boggling; this works well for sauteeing, searing, braising, poaching, saucing, just about whatever you want to do. The rounded sides mean you can get in there better with spoons in a way that is more difficult with sharper corners. This is a double benefit - not only do you not end up with burned residue in the corners, but you can also clean it more easily with a sponge or brush, and there is not burned residue to dig out in the first place. Honestly, for a couple, the 4-qt pan could be your only pan in your kitchen, the larger one is better for a family or people who cook for a crowd frequently. Be aware that the larger 6-qt version is huge, and heavy. You will have trouble flipping in the pan, and not all ranges will be able to heat it effectively. All-Clad is as good as it gets quality-wise - the price is definitely (a lot) more than you can pay for cheaper, or even mid-range, branded stuff at the department store - but live with this for a while and you'll realize you've really bought value; my heirs will be fighting over the rights to own this when I'm gone. These pans were my first All-Clad; I probably won't buy anything else (excluding nonstick) ever again.

I was delighted how well it cooked all my fish and meat. Delivery was earlier than expected. It has been a positive experience. Thanks to a food blogger Xiao Gao Jie who demo different types of pans of different materials and brands. Took her reccomendation to get an All Clad pan and it is all worth the trouble to indent it from US.

Love the pan. Good size, good design. Even heat. Oven friendly as well as stove top. All round excellent product.

It's all good so far. This has replaced several other pans and is in near daily use with no fuss and good results. The large capacity and deep sides are helpful for my cooking adventures.
