~this book was a heartache for me & when i say it i do mean it in every sense of word. i loved experiencing it & i’d go for it again & again, a feeling soo hurtful which ruined me like literally & that’s how much i devoured myself to this amazing book!! ~when you love somebody, when you want to devote wholly to something, when you’re so desperate about what you need, when you’re lost at certain times, when you’re a trouble knowingly, when you’re everything the world wants to know & talks about...........that’s daisy jones ~I’ve read seven husbands of evelyn hugo before daisy jones & the six. i must say evelyn hugo & daisy jones are those characters who don’t have any hidden heart of gold, they aren’t perfect & that’s what makes them so live & realistic !!! you feel like they exist IRL ~our late 1970’s famous rock band "daisy jones and the six" are touring for their album Aurora which is rising top the charts but on july 12th 1979 after the live concert at chicago they split abruptly & nobody knows why.....as author mentioned “The truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle.” ~characters are always what makes a book soo sparkling & hypnotizing....daisy sure was one such !!! but apart from daisy other characters also blew me away....everybody was so honest & you could feel them when they talk. ~i loved daisy & simone’s friendship, the way simone was always there for daisy no matter what.....i loved the kind of connection existed between camilla & billy........i loved karen for believing what she really wants even though she knows that she will be judged for it.......i loved eddie for having his opinions.......i loved graham for his devotion.....i loved daisy for everything she was & she is & she will be......i loved the whole book for making me effing numb. ~addiction was one of the main themes which this book dealt with & we know how sex, drugs are always the core in pop culture as they say ”sex, drugs, rock ”n”roll 🎸” . i loved the way characters coped with their addiction !!!! ~heck yeah !!!! i loved every part of it & i’m in pain 😣 i need more books like this......taylor jenkins reid knows me so well better than any & she’s breaking me for good !!!!!

I read this book last year and fell in love, then I reread it! I also heard the audiobook and let me tell you this book will give you one of the best audiobook experiences ever! Thank you to @penguinindia @reader_viddh for a gifted paperback! 💛 You don't know what hit you as you delve deeper and deeper into the book, the 70's glitz, the glam, the famegame, the rock and roll, the fashion, the drugs and a rollercoaster of a plot! Daisy Jones is definitely one of the most impactful and unforgettable characters ever written. You wouldn't know this is a story about a fictional band, it's like listening to a podcast or reading about the ups and downs of the band- The Six while they touch popularity and fame in the 70's with their leader Billy. All women characters in the book are so strong and indomitable, this book celebrates women, it's hard to let go of them and their story. The world building, the setting and the presentation of the 70's with the drugs and sex and music- a treat to read. I read that TJR found inspiration for this book in VH1's Behind The Music which is so cool. I think it comes naturally to TJR for writing true to life characters and stories, with their raw vulnerabilities and emotions. The lyrics are so good of a few songs, I especially love Honey comb, Aurora. I would recommend this to everyone, one of the best books ever written! So happy it's being adapted for a show by Reese Witherspoon after being a pick for her book club!

"We only look like young stars because you can't see old scars." 🎸 I decided to read Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid because of my love for music. Initially I thought that it is just about a fictional 1970s rock band which had split and nobody knows the reason for it. I wanted to read a book which is about songwriting, passion for music, performance and so many other aspects of the music industry. 🎸 But, this book is beyond that. 🎸 This book is about flawed people, their passion, addiction, abuse, love, music, struggle, temptation, drugs and emotions. 🎸 The narrative is very unique and it is in the form of dialogue or an interview. It is so engaging that I could not stop reading. This book is about how different people came together, how they struggled with their personal life, how they faced creative differences and how they all worked on the band which they were a part of. It also shows an ugly side of success and media, which is heartbreaking. 🎸 I cannot praise the author enough for giving us diverse characters which evolve throughout the course of the book and go through personal struggles. I feel all the readers will be able to relate with at least one of the characters in this book. 🎸 Also, I felt thrilled while reading about the music, performance and the songwriting journey. I craved so much to listen to all the songs mentioned in the book. If you are someone who loves music, you got to read this one. 🎸 This is the first book which made me feel so emotional. I cried my heart out while reading the book and even more when I finished reading it. This book just broke my heart into a million pieces but somehow it put all the pieces back together in the end. This is hands down my new favourite book. 🎸 My rating: 5/5

Okay. I've never written such a long review for any book but i had to write about this. With pros and cons. I liked this book. Plain, simple, original, takes you in. You indulge in it and you want to finish it as soon as possible. But(now comes the but), when it has been hyped up so much by so many bookstagrammers, you obviously expect it to blow your mind! To put it in simple words, i wasn't blown. Yes, it has a great story, great plot and a great writing still I felt it's not for everyone. Taylor Jenkins' write books from a particular point of view of the nineties. Her books seem like historical fiction but they are not. You know, just how not everybody can read classics, not everyone can read a Taylor Jenkins' books. But please don't just stop on my account, read it and decide. You might be the correct reader for it. In my case, the book was great but i wasn't a great audience for it. P.S.: This book definitely has some great songs and some great lines. Some of those directly pierce through your heart, leaving you with a void.

The only reason I am giving this book a four stars and not five is because it made me feel utterly depressed. The story that started with just a small band became so twisted towards the end that I feared completing the book for I knew something was about to go wrong. The author put all effort and used a new and unique writing style that I hadn't expected to see. Heartbreaking, emotional and realistic stories are hard to find and this book is one of them, the characters are raw and perfect and would stay with you forever. I will always recommend this book, until the end of time.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THE SIX IS NOT REAL AND THERE IS NO DAISY JONES! Taylor Jenkins reid is at it again, She makes you believe that these people exist in real life when they don’t. If I had to describe this book in one word I would say Incredible. As a fan of classic rock and 70s music I couldn’t resist myself reading it in one go. All the female characters in the book are such feminists and super strong who deal with their problems like badasses and make their way in the world and redefine Rock n Roll. The characters are so strong and realistic that you care for them not one character in the book is boring that you don’t wanna know more about them , They all have their own flaws, talents , personalities that talks to you and feel whatever they are feeling! I geeked out so much when they talked about Jimmy page fooling around with young girls and Ringo being one of the best drummers or Tommy James music. It was like listening to a podcast. I so wanted to open spotify and listen to Daisy and Billy sing Honeycomb . Can’t wait for the series to come out and actually experience it.

TJR never disappoints! What a beautiful play of emotions. Another favourite from her. What can I say that’s not been said already about a hundred times? Nothing except just read it! A pure entertainer. So many emotions! The relationship of Billy and Camila. Daisy’s and Billy’s connection. Their struggles, their angst! The music world, the group dynamics, the fame. Everything just makes this book an unforgettable experience.

When I finished “The sevens husbands of Evelyn Hugo” which I loved and a 5 ⭐️ read, I thought I had to give this a try also. I enjoyed the unique writing style - the whole book is writing from interviews with numbers of characters and their point of view during the story. Therefor it was also quite funny sometimes. Unfortunately I can’t give this a 5 ⭐️ I will give this a 4 ⭐️ rating. Because it was very slow in the middle of the book and I was not sure if I wanted to finish reading it. But after these pages the story took a right turn again.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a very highly recommended account of sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll via the history and breakup of a legendary fictional 70's rock band. This one is a winner. Daisy Jones, the daughter of a famous artist and a French model, grew up in LA in the late 1960's. At fourteen she started hanging out at the famous clubs on the Sunset Strip and drinking and doing drugs followed. Her friend, disco singer Simone, is the only one trying to look out for her. Daisy is a free spirited "it" girl who is first noticed for her looks, but soon has her voice capturing the attention of those with influence and she is signed with Runner Records. Billy Dunne and his brother Graham started the band that eventually grew and took off to become The Six. Billy is the song writer and charismatic front man for the band and has artistic control over the group. On their first tour, Billy went wild and nearly ruined his marriage to Camila, who was pregnant with their first child. After the tour he went to rehab and his overwhelming goal beyond making it big with The Six, is to stay sober and faithful to Camila and their family. After they have one hit where Daisy sings with Billy on one of his songs, Runner Records decides that Billy and Daisy need to work together. While they are both dynamic on their own, when they sing together they are extraordinary, electric, and transcendent. Billy doesn't want Daisy as part of his band, but they end up working together writing the songs on the album that produced some of the biggest hits in the seventies. No one knew the story behind the band and the split that ended it all - until now. Daisy Jones & The Six is written like a documentary novel, an oral history, with quotes from the band members, Billy, Daisy, Camila, and Simone. All the characters are written with unique voices in their comments so you can tell who is talking even if you didn't note their name. While reading you can't help but envision the video in your mind, flipping between comments from the different people involved in Daisy Jones & The Six. This is part of what makes the book so amazing. You will easily believe this was a real band and real members are being interviewed. You will be surprised once you learn who is conducting the interviews and asking the questions. The plot unfolds through the oral history interviews, starting with their beginnings up to their rise to fame. Reid definitely sets her story in the time and place of the late sixties to the late seventies. The clashes, struggles, and power of Billy and Daisy working together, writing the music, is captured perfectly. This really is a riveting and unforgettable novel; my attention was captured right at the start and held fast to the end. Remarkably, at the end of the book Reid has written all the lyrics for the songs. Need I mention that the writing is amazing? Well, it is an incredibly well-written book and captured my attention from beginning to end. I simple could not read it fast enough as I was desperate to learn what happened next. (When I first read the synopsis for Taylor Jenkins Reid's Daisy Jones & The Six, I immediately tried to get a review copy as I knew it would be a novel I would love. I never did get the advanced reading copy, but I was right to try as this is an amazing novel. Now I need to find time to read Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.)

I have seen this book around for a while now, I bought it a while ago as well but only just got around to it. This is a fictional book about Daisy Jones and a band called The Six. The title does kind of give it away! The Six are already a band, they have already had an album. Daisy Jones is an up-and-coming star and it is a chance comment that brings them together. This book is set out as a documentary-style transcript. It is very easy to get used to this style and as it is a transcript you always know who is saying what. The author has created a story that is incredibly addictive and all the time I was reading this I had to remind myself that it was a fictional book about fictional people. The author delves into the lives of her characters before they became the band known as Daisy Jones & The Six. This is such an insightful look into the lives of each of the members when the drugs, sex and rock'n'roll lifestyle was notorious around rock bands. The author doesn't hold back in this and her characters go through some tough choices. The main man behind The Six is Billy Dunne. There is a certain amount of animosity from the rest of the band at times as he takes charge of the direction they are going. Bringing in Daisy creates problems, but also adds a balance. However, two dynamic characters such as Billy and Dasiy are going to create waves. The author has packed this story with so much tension, excitement, and mayhem of living a lifestyle in the late 60s and early 70s. Time on the road, creating new songs and how the dynamics between the band, their families and friends take its toll. A fabulous story that I am so glad I finally got around to reading. Exciting and sad at times but with an addictive quality. I soon found characters I preferred over others and I did have an interest in hoping for the best for others. An unusual style but a brilliant book. It is one I would definitely recommend.
