life saver
My 122 lb Great Dane got spayed and had a gastropexy done. When we put the cone on her she refused to move. When she did move she took out a shoe cabinet, bruised my leg, moved my entertainment stand and a chair across the room. She also wouldn't eat while wearing the cone.. I ordered this in an XXL and it worked perfectly! She has worn it for 11 days. She peed on it twice on accident when we didn't secure it well enough when we sent her out to pee. It can't be put in the dryer, so we hung it to dry. Everything but the collar was fully dry in about 2 hours. It did fade in the wash, but overall, this suit was a life saver! Saved me from getting bruised from that cone and my living room from being destroyed by an anxious dog in a massive plastic cone.

Great for post op spay, or heat
This is a Large suitical recovery suite. My girl is 85lbs normal body size. Base of neck to tail is 27 inches. It covers her privates and leaves the tail out. A dog with about another 5 lbs could fit this easily and aproxamately 30 inch back, she has a little room in the butt. Snaps next to tail on both sides. Going potty is a pain in the butt, you have to unsnap and tuck the bottom inside so it doesnt get soiled. But this is the best recovery suit we tried. It was hard finding the right fit so hopefully my description helps others. There are other lighter weight ones out there that snap up the back but we had to sew the necklines on those to make them work and as your dog gets more wiggly when they are recovering its easy for them to lay on their back and pop the snaps. The suitical my girl couldnt get out of unless she decided to chew it. If you have a girl in heat it may work as well. My girl is a houdini and wouldnt keep pants on that were made for heat but this would have worked.

Good call
This recovery suit has been a far better arrangement than the cone for our girl after her spay surgery. The suit is well thought out with snaps that are easy to open and close, collar loops, and well-placed openings for legs and tail. There is a snap and strap for rolling up the back end while taking your dog out to go to the bathroom, but I found that just peeling forward the tail end and tucking it up inside itself was much quicker and worked just as well. The large fit well for our 55 lb Labrador retriever who is one and a half years old. It is snug around her shoulders but she does not seem to be restricted by it at all.

Was a little longer than I expected
I measured my pup and ordered the medium long. It was a little too long and made her look like she had a full diaper... worked great and kept her out of her abdominal incision so it got the job done. It was kindof annoying to unstrap it (like a baby onsie) every time she had to pee.

Good for spay, XL for 95-lb St. Bernard
This suit works well for our dog who was recently spayed. While it covers her surgery area, she is able to access her lady parts. If you had a male being neutered, not sure this would work.

Excellent alternative to the Elizabethan Collar for surgery recovery
The Suitical is easy to put on the dog and has snaps in the back that fold up readily when the dog has to go out to go to the bathroom.

Glad it was ordered!
My dog has a slim, slick head and no matter how I attached the cone, it would not stay on for even two minutes. Totally useless. Having ordered the recovery suit, recovery from spay was smooth. I ordered a second so I could wash one and air dry it if needed. Instructions say not to put it in a dryer. I also recommend getting well in advance to try the size on your pet. It took me a couple tries to get accurate sizing. Recommend.

Better than a cone
Our Havanese’s spay location had healed pretty completely externally, but then she scratched, possibly because of internal stitches dissolving, and we needed to keep her off the wound. The terrible plastic cone was not working out well, so I ordered the suit. It fit her well, slightly loose, but I’d rather have a little room than be tight. She fought me to get it on, but I did it and it worked. She didn’t try to scratch so between the suit and antibiotics, she healed well.Washed well when we were done using it. I am glad to have gotten it so quickly as well.

Perfect!
I hate the horrible plastic cones and was dreading having my dog spayed. My dog still likes to be crated at night and I knew the cone was going to make it difficult for her to settle. Stupidly, I didn't purchase one before surgery and we all spent a very restless, uncomfortable first night with the cone. The extra cost for quick delivery was worth every single penny and this coat is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I take it off for a while during the day when I know I can watch her. I was confused about the sizing when I was making the purchase and had to use other people's reviews as a guide to which size I should get. My dog is a smaller Labrador and I opted for the large size but probably could have got away with a medium+. It fits her nicely on the upper part of the body and although it is a tiny bit saggy around the back end, it is covering the wound and letting it breathe so is the perfect size. The poppers at the rear make it easy for toileting. The size guide on the packaging is very clear and it would have been useful to see that beforehand. If it helps anyone, the guide, which is based on length, is as follows: XXXS & XXS Chihuahua; XS Yorkshire Terrier; Small Maltese, Pug; Small+ Cocker Spaniel, Beagle; Medium Chow Chow, Poodle; Medium+ Collie, Labrador; Large Labrador, Boxer; XL German Shepherd, Rottweiler; XXL St Bernard.

So handy!
So I bought this suit in the wrong size. It was one size too big but that was an error on my part.5* for this as it’s really well made. Nice soft material. Thick enough that if he was to try itching or nibbling at something he shouldn’t through it, it would unlikely cause any damage or prolong healing.I had to use hair bands to tie up parts of the material to make sure it wouldn’t allow him to get to his stictches.I love that you can un-pop it by the tail. It can then be rolled up, as secured with another popper on the underside. This is great for when my dog was going outside for a wee. I didn’t have to faff too much, or take it all the way off. I could just roll it up.He also didn’t seem to mind wearing it either so must be comfortable. And I was so pleased to find something like this, as he is a rescue and the cone petrified him.

Excellent quality but measure your doggie!!
Excellent product. I needed something to put on my baby after her operation to spay her. When I picked her up she had a cone on her head and the feeling of dread set in pretty fast. There is no way that I could do a week of cone head with her, she is an ultra hyper dog and has enough issues with wearing a collar. So, I looked online and found this post op suit from suitical. The suit arrived this morning and as I took it out of the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find the material was of excellent quality, as was the stitching and pop buttons. The cotton is thin but sturdy so perfect for my girl to wear in the house without feeling too constrained. At the crotch and belly section of the suit is a layer of blue padding which I imagine would be great for any leaky wounds. However, being a fool I did not measure my dog and just expected the small to fit fine. I was wrong by a good 15cm length and diameter. To rectify this the best I could, I have just thrown in a few lines of stitches here and there and it now fits. Sort of.So, for my review I would say that this is a must have item for any fussy doggie. The quality is superb and worth the money 10 times over. However!!! Don't be a fool like me! Measure your dog and make sure you get the correct size. The small is a big fit and I suspect it would be great for a normal sized staffy. Do not expect it to fit a Boston terrier, Yorkshire terrier or Lhasa also ( my three dogs)Measure twice, buy once and avoid putting silly poor quality stitches in a great item for your dog cupboard!!

Suitical Recovery Suit
I bought this prior to getting my dog spayed. The original plan was to keep her in the Cone of Shame for the first week, and then in the suit for final healing. However, on the first night home she was absolutely terrified by the cone, so at 3am I put her suit on. She wore it for about two weeks following her op, and it was a god send. I washed it and tumble dried it every few days during that time, and it always looked as good as new.Would really recommend this to anyone.

So much better than a traditional cone - the bucket of shame
I was initially very sceptical about the thought of the dog wearing a onesie after surgery but it was suggested by one of the nurses at the vets who had used a suit on her own dog post surgery. It proved to be an Excellent option. The dog accepted the suit with no problem and we spent a couple of trial evenings before surgery making sure she was comfortable. She wore the suit for entire 10 day post op period and wound healed beautifully. She was only allowed out in the garden so the pink suit was very acceptable, I suspect if I'd needed to walk the dog in public the suits colourful appearance would have raised comments!! She was able to move round the house freely and even sleep in her crate as usual which would not have been possible with a traditional cone. The suit washed well and had practical babygro type fasteners for ease when she needed to toilet. We bought size large which was loose on our 7 month old bearded collie pup but this meant it was not rubbing on her wound so worked well. Well worth the money.
