The battery will charge 40% or so, not from dead to 100%.
Many people do not like (hate) these juice packs as they don't have a lot of power/battery. I get their gripe. Fortunately, you can buy these for under $10 so I've bought several of these for my old iPhone XS Max and I keep them charged and for my needs it gets my phone to 100% with no problem. Also, my phone's regular lightning slot slowly went from working to not at all so I have to charge it wirelessly and thankfully these j.packs accommodate this feature. The phone is old and about to be too old for the current updates so they've helped me keep this phone well past what I'd normally keep a phone. If you just have one, yes they only charge 35-45% max so I can see why so many were not happy.

Affordable but there are better options
Overall it’s solid but I’ve had better charging cases. Its sleek design makes it a bit lightweight and not too bulky. It works to charge your phone but won’t charge it to 100%, unless your phone is about halfway or 45%. My battery was on 10% and it charged it to 63%. Good enough for you to get through the day but still not 100%. When charging avoid keeping it in your pocket or anywhere that doesn’t dispel heat, because it generates a lot of heat and your phone will stop charging due to overheating.

Not the same!
Had a Mophie for an old phone. I upgraded my phone & they didn’t have a Mophie at the time that fit the new phone so I bought the Apple version. Hated it! It all but fell apart so I decided to buy the Mophie once I saw it was out. The old version you could “turn on” the charging & leave it on. My battery NEVER died. This new version requires you to push and hold down a button in order to use the Mophie charger. The charge you get from it is still not enough to last through most days. I am not on my phone a ton but I usually have to plug my phone up at some point during the day to recharge it. As far as the durability it is still great! I have already dropped my phone several times and it has protected my screen and the case still looks new.
