A new generation of Fairy Tale
Beautiful book, Wonderfully written!! My four year old keeps asking for fairy tales read to her (even over TV!) because these stories are so wonderful. Spoiler alert- The updated versions don’t end in every princess being rescued by a prince. They save themselves, opt for friendship, and confidently say “no thank you” to teenage marriage! We all love this!

Wonderful Reimagined Stories!
We checked this book out at the local library. Loved it so much, decided to share as birthday presents with friends and buy one to keep. The artwork is beautiful. The stories are artfully re-imagined and just long enough to keep interest.PS - In response to the 1 bad review, there is no political content in these stories. Promoting diversity and representation through art is not political.

Beautiful art - more modern “reimagined” fairy tales
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw these were reimagined fairy tales. The book is large, hardcover, and really nice quality. The art is beautiful and very unique and kind of regal and vibrant in a modern way. Some of the artwork makes up the whole page and there’s a lot to look at.There’s 12 stories in total with 8 pages of each story. I think these reimagined stories are great for teaching children they don’t have to have a savior or a partner to rely on to get through life. The stories kind of take a “feminist” approach with the girl being able to control her own narrative and not have to find a prince to save her. It was a little strange to read knowing the original storylines and what they had changed. Because each story is only 8 pages it seems as if they wrote sped up versions with slight twists. The book is easy to read and I read it to a 4 year old and 8 year old - and the 8 year old could read probably 90% of the book with just a few words they got caught on.Overall I think the stories are easy to read before bedtime and still teach little lessons throughout the stories. They are interesting twists on the originals and very modern endings

Gather around the floor to read
My kids were quick to pick up on the differences of these stories as I read the book to them. Then we of course had to talk about what reimagined means as it says in the title. The stories are fine. They are very close to the originals with some minor changes. The art is not my style. It’s good looking and colorful. The people almost look more modern but not overly attractive to me. But it really does come down to a style/taste sort of thing in my opinion. What I do like is how large the book is. It’s huge. It makes an enjoyable family book. I like to read to the kids on the floor anyway but this book is really meant for that. Everyone can gather around and see the pictures while the story is read. I like it well enough and I can tell the authors took their time with the project. It’s not my favorite of my children’s stories but it was enjoyable enough. The kids seem to like it but the tweaks in the story were a bit distracting at times to them. It’s just not what their used to but that doesn’t mean they are bad necessarily.

I appreciate the updates
So note the title says "classic tales reimagined"; kind of feel as they should be. I've been kind of keen on finding options for my daughter's story time that aren't all .. well ... wait there to be recused sort of stories. I have collections of the classic tales and I've read them to her to boot, but we do talk about their 'aged' views on things. 3-4 isn't too early to start learning she can handle things herself if she tries. So that being said the book is big, and the illustrations are nice. I have put together multiple books myself and the layout work on this was well done. The font is easy to read even at lower light levels you might face with late night story time. The pictures are crisp, and the printing choices well made. Story wise they are familiar enough that she often knows the idea of the story we are reading as we start but she enjoys the takes the author has made with how they should resolve. It's not just empowering for girls to be clear, this is just my point of view with my target audience for the reading. We've read all the stories and despite her library at 4 number into the hundreds she's asked for this book to be the bedtime stories a few times now after we first finished it. So its' a win in her book so to speak.

We spent hours with this book
A nice, very large book with fine illustrations and relatively short stories. Yes, the stories can be a bit bridges, and they aren't always the tales as you remember them, but they're interesting and they hold the kids' attention for quite some time. The drawings are very detailed and you can whittle away the hours just playing your own version of "Where's Waldo" if you want, e.g. find the cherry in the land of sweets (Nutcracker) find the corn on the farm (Wizard of Oz).It's also nice to see people of color in tales that were always presented from a white society's point of view.Overall, we found this book to be extremely entertaining, and with a big ol' book on my lap, and a kid on either side of me, I feel like a real grandfather just as depicted in the movies :)Recommended.Review of: Fairy Tale Land: 12 classic tales reimagined

Why is there political propaganda in a children's book?
This is a children's book and should not have spoiled the illustrations of the classic European fairy tales of the past, influenced by the current internal US political agenda.

Stunning book
This is one of those books that is just so special. All the fine details, beautiful illustrations, little flecks of gold on the cover. It's so lovely. A firm favourite in our house. I also like that the illustrator didn't give all the characters white skin.
