Contigo Cortland 2.0 24oz. Water Bottle with AUTOSEAL® Lid

I love Contigo water bottles. The Auto-seal function is wonderful; there is minimal spillage. The size also fits nicely in most cup holders/ backpack size pockets. I like the handle too.

I absolutely love these style of water bottles! I’ve tried a bunch of others and also the big fancy name brand ones that makes everyone look cool, but these are far and away my fave! They’re sturdy, easy to carry, easy to clean, have no odor or weird chemical smell. The colors are nice, I have the blue one and a green one, and they’re easy to use. Super durable too! Lid is easy to use too .

I love it! I bought this based on a sale price, yet am pleasantly surprised by how perfect it is. It's thankfully toddler-proof, and it also keeps bugs out of my water. I also enjoy drinking from it and carrying it. Excellent value, easy to clean, and is actually leakproof.

The design of this bottle allows you to drink while reclining without spilling, so it's perfect for a patient who can't sit up, or perfect for someone like me who drinks in the middle of the night. Sometimes I have arthritis flares that might make it very hard to sit up and drink, so I leave a bottle on the bed next to me. It works great and is simple to drink from, with a good flow that I don't have to suck to make the water come out, even if lying on my side. I've never had need for the locking switch but I can see it would be helpful if throwing the bottle in a bag. You still need to press the button to get it to flow, so the need for the switch would be pretty rare imo. The 24 ounce is a good size that's borderline too tall but the narrowness means it would fit in any cup holder. I got mine for about $12 or $13, which was a great buy. I'm back to buy another and it's gone up to about $14 or $15 but I think it's worth it. I've had mine about 6 months and love love it. I'm getting a 2nd one so in case they ever discontinue it, I'll have a spare.

Update: I contacted Contigo's customer service at gocontigo.com. After providing a PDF receipt from my Amazon purchase, along with some photos of the defective bottle, they sent me a new bottle free of charge. This new one does not leak; I have used it daily for a week now with both hot and cold beverages and have had no problems. Still disappointed about the volume markings, but that's no big deal. As to my concerns about being BPA free, customer service wrote: "No worries, our research lab spends countless hours developing safe, innovative drinkware products that are designed for everyday use. All materials and end products that we use are approved and tested to applicable food contact laws. All of our water bottles are BPA and BPS free, Phthalate-free and Latex-free. Many are also made from FDA approved Eastman Tritan. Eastman Tritan is far more durable than a traditional plastic and helps resist against stains and odors. Our gaskets are made from high-quality, durable, food-safe silicone and are BPA-free. Validation that this plastic is BPA-free is supported by robust testing by independent third-party accredited laboratories. Your health and safety are of the utmost concern to us. I was very pleased with the level of customer service that I received from the agent. ___ Original review [one star]: As a replacement for my Camelbak I bought this Contigo 24 ounce bottle, licorice color. Terrible decision. I love the design of the cap but it fails in its most basic obligation--it leaks. I use this bottle for my coffee; I put in the sugar and cream, then the coffee. I screw on the cap and shake it and it spills all over. I make sure the button is locked; I make sure not to push the button; I make to screw the cap on very tightly and I flip the spout cover closed. None of this matters, though, as the coffee comes out through the spout. Another negative is that I wanted a BPA free product. The Amazon page states that both the lid and the bottle are BPA free, but nowhere on the bottle or the lid is there text that reads that. Did I get what I paid for? I don't know; I have no way of knowing if this is BPA free. As for the measurement, I liked that my Camelbak had lines for 8, 16 and 24 ounces. This bottle only has a line at 24. Finally, nowhere in the Amazon page does it warn that this bottle is only for cold or room temperature liquids. It is only after you receive it that you learn it is not supposed to be used with hot liquids. I thought 8,000+ reviews meant a pretty solid product, especially with so many stars. This has been a complete waste of almost $20. I will contact the vendor and see what can be done, otherwise it will go in the recycling bin.

Great bottle. Keeps water fresh.

If you have had other autoseal bottles (coleman) this is the same concept and you'll be pleased with the quality and function.

Seriously an amazing water bottle. I have a very old Contigo auto seal water bottle from maybe 15 years ago which I accidentally dropped and broke, and I haven’t been able to find a water bottle that I liked enough to replace it. This Contigo water bottle is amazing: - continuous drinking without needing to let air back into the bottle - the mouth piece is the perfect size for sipping or gulping, doesn’t flood the mouth with too much water (I can even drink from it lying on my side without it spilling) - the lid mechanism that releases allowing you to clean the rubber stopper/mouthpiece is BRILLIANT (my old Contigo bottle couldn’t do this and I’d had to shove a tissue into the crevices to “clean” it) - I hate water bottles with straws that you have to clean - it’s dishwasher safe!!!

I overturned the bottle (when it had water). Even when the caps and lock are in place, it still leaks a little water.
