Question 1

Does the strap have a hole on one end, so the strap can thread through itself? So when not in use it stays attached to the cable.

Accepted Answer

The strap has a pill-shaped hole in one end and then you can thread the other end through.  I would recommend utilizing the hook (side that sticks to cloth) and wrap it that way so your straps don't get stuck to any unwanted areas.  You can loop it once and attach it to a cable, but depending on how tight you do this it can still slide up and down.

Question 2

Can they be used outside to secure bird netting to my wrought iron gate?  Trying to keep the rabbit out of my yard. So will the ties hold up outside?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I use them outside and have for years to secure several objects to our iron deck railing. They safely and attractively secure a tall stand holding my hummingbird feeder and hanging baskets. Wind has not toppled anything yet. Love that I can leave them chained together to get longer lengths for whatever I need.  Strong and attractive.

Question 3

Can I use it as Bike ties for tires? I want to tie my Bike to my car bike stand, so that it does not move when I'm driving.

Accepted Answer

It's a better idea to use a strong bungee cord or two to secure a bike to a car rack and to keep the front tire from bouncing around.  There's an excellent set here, on AMAZON.COM that would be an excellent choice.  Low price and Prime eligible, the ASIN # B009ONI2B8.  If I weren't so happy with the cables I have, I would order this set with various lengths of extra strong bungee cords.  Good luck.

would these work for running speaker wire along a wall to the receiver?

Accepted Answer

Only as far as allowing you to bundle several wires together as they lay on the floor against the wall. You'd probably want to get some molded plastic "raceway" and attach that to the wall, then run the wires in that. Most are easily paintable to match the wall and would have self-stick adhesive to secure them to the wall. You could screw them down but be careful the screw heads don't chafe the wiring inside the raceway. You can also get some flat-ish ones you can run across a doorjam. Almost anything should handle speaker wires, and you can even get flat 'wire-tape' that you can stick to the wall and paint over for an almost invisible wire.
