My husband has been wanting a OBD2 reader for awhile now. I was worried this one may not be easy to read the codes but decided to purchase anyways. He said the codes are very easy to read and he loves this device. Not only was it able to tell him why his check engine light just came on a few weeks ago, it was also able to clear an annoying tire sensor warning light on my vehicle. Can’t beat the price for this. Gives you peace of mind knowing when you bring your vehicle to a mechanic they can’t tell you there’s more wrong with your vehicle that there is because you will know the majority of the problems already with this little handheld machine.

So far so good, only used it once. Check engine light was on(2004 GMC Sierra 1500). Plugged in scanner, Emission Code PO446. Replaced the Evaporative System Vent Control, Purge Solenoid. "Check engine light" came back on after resetting (100 miles), new Scan, Emission Code PO446 again. on YouTube, then replaced gas cap, reset again over 300 miles driven engine light has not come back. Don't know if I really needed to replace the Evaporative System Vent Control Purge Solenoid, maybe could have just replaced the gas cap. I had a check engine light on. It happened before. I spent more than one hundred dollars to get rid of it from an auto shop in order to pass the smoke check and renew my registration. It happened again recently. I still have time before the registration renewal. I gave it a try with this tool. It gave a code P0455. I guessed my wife did not tight the gas cap at the gas station. So I tightened the gas cap and use the tool to erase the code. It has been working so far. The cost is much less.

I was looking for a nice ODB2 reader that can scan my car for any codes. Then, I looked online and got this one in my search results. After buying of this item, I am quite happy with this item as within seconds it scans for all the codes in a car. It seems relaible and very handy. I always keep it in my car's trunk.

I purchased this because one of the reviewers said he bought it and cleared the SES light on his truck. I plugged it in, and the car is not throwing any codes. I tried to clear the SES light, and this unit DOES NOT clear the light. It did tell me that my battery was on the brink, so it wasn't a total bust!

Unfortunately, The part stores no longer clear your codes, so I decided to buy a code reader / diagnostics tool. Autozone will lend you there’s, but I couldn’t get a DTC code to clear / service engine light to clear. I had already changed the faulty part prior to attempting to clear the code at Autozone. This is a great code reader. I was skeptical at first, but it performed exactly what was described getting service engine light to extinguish.

Product is definitely as described. Works great and reads codes and frames fast. One of the better scanners I’ve bought for less than half the price of “better” ones
