XL works pretty well on my 26kg Dal, the arm holes are just a little bit tight but sooo cute. The hat is also a little pointier than expected.

Pretty bummed out about the sizing for this costume. The XL didnt fit my 60 dog, if you have a pup with a deeper chest this is probably not for them. The costume itself is well made, so freakin cute and seems like it would be durable but has ZERO stretch to it. Definitely worth the money and easy to get on just too small! Make sure you measure your babies!

I ordered this costume this year for my dachshund who has an expanding halloween costume wardrobe (she has been a butterfly, police officer, bat, etc) and this was another great winner! See submitted photo for dog in costume. I felt that the quality was really wonderful for what you are getting - a DOG COSTUME! It is not a hollywood style movie wardrobe and cannot be expected to be such. That being said, the yellow and white stripes are made of the satin, really reflective material that are the kind of decorative ribbons you find used in girls hair bows etc. It reflects light well but it is *not* technically "reflective emergency tape for anyone who is looking for that exact replica. The hat has a generic fire dept emblem on the front with "fire chief" embroidered on it too. This hat, unlike some others was well made in that they created a loop of elastic for the ears to come thru (which if you didn't want could also be easily cut). For dogs with short, stubby legs (like a dachshund) the length was perfect (I often have to alter her halloweenie costumes) and I did not with this one! The barrel chested breeds may want to order a size up or just be aware that the coat will fit, but it will be tight. I did not find the sizing to be off at all. I ordered a Small for a 12lb mini dachshund and had no problems. I am also aware of some of the peculiarities of the breed and sizing (long body, short legs, barrel chest etc). But it was such a huge hit with everyone who saw my dachshund in it! We went to the local fire station and the guys even pulled the truck out for us to help with our halloween picture! At the neighborhood firestation festival she won best pet costume! And also had to pose for a number of photos with kids because they just thought the firedog was *too* cute! I was asked numerous times where I found a firefighter costume for her - amazon of course! I don't think you will be disappointed in this product at all, if you are not expecting an oscar product. It is equal to or better than many children's halloween costumes I've seen!
