Size: 12X16 (30X40 cm) with a 1" (2.5 cm) thick cradle. The painting is ready to hang with a wire in back. The sand is glued to the board in multiple layers and then sprayed with an acrylic fixative sealant. Collected from around the world, the sand is un-dyed and unaltered from its natural state. The black includes sands collected from Lake Michigan; Piha, NZ; Oregon; and from Waipipi Beach, NZ. The white sands are from the deep ocean and from Anna Maria Island, FL. The blue-gray sands are a mixture that includes sands from Anna Maria Island; Sea Isle City, NJ; Topsail Beach, NC; Fort Orange, Brazil; and Nelson, NZ. The blue green of the stream includes sand from Gemstone Beach, NZ. The browns are mixtures of sands from a variety of places: the Mississippi River near both Minneapolis and New Orleans; sand from a former glacial stream in Ohio; and alluvial sand from Old Rope Mill Park in Cartersville, GA. The green sands come from Reunion; Hawaii; Piha, NZ; Orepuki "Gemstone Beach," NZ; Paraparaumu, NZ; and from a beach near Mt. Taranaki, NZ. Additional texture comes from crushed dunite from Dun Mt., NZ.
