Growums Herb Garden Kit (8 Count) - Plant Kit for Kids

I bought these and only one 3/8 of my plants started to sprout then shortly died after. My complaint is that you have to use the Internet to get any instructions. The website required making a log in for any information for instructions. I was disappointed, I got gardening stuff for the kids to get them away from the computer not make them have to use it. I feel like we would have done better if there were a clear insert with instructions.

My 4 and 7 year old boys love this product. We have gotten a few other versions as well. We started from seeds in the kit and ended up building a raised bed in the backyard to transplant the plants. We harvested some veggies / herbs but started too late for the tomatoes (they didn't fully ripen before the cold weather). Kids got a kick out following the process on the Growums website.

Purchased this and 3 others (Salad, Ratatouille, Pizza garden growums kits) when they were on sale just to try them out for an indoor home science activity. The seeds are tiny because they are herb seeds, of course. We followed the instructions, except that instead of planting half the seeds, we planted them all. Almost ALL of them sprouted, which was fantastic for a 4yo to see. With the kit, there is a code to enter online. The website is a great learning tool. My daughter loves reading the emails (they send reminders and updates) and going online to watch the instructional videos, learn some basic gardening tips, and do the little activities on the growums website.

What a great idea for helping your child to learn a valuable life lesson..
