This is a lovely book
The 4 year old says it was funny, because it had a dragon. The 7 year old says she loved it. The story has three sisters. They have liked every Toon book they have seen.

Great book for 5 - 7 year olds
We liked this book for our oldest granddaughter. She is one of 3 girls, and this is exactly the "how to" example of using your imagination she can relate to. She is an advanced reader and found the reading easy and the concept of the pretending in the backyard to be just at her age.

Hardcover
The book is gorgeously illustrated. Its perfectly whimsical for my 3 year old. We planted Wildflower seeds to go along with the book in our garden. My daughter loves to sit in her chair and "read" her comic books, especially this one.

Surprise Beginning.
Full Disclosure: I've met Liniers, the creator of this magical book. Like everyone else who meets him I think of him as a friend. He is a cartoonist of wide-ranging ability. He draws a daily bilingual comic strip Macanudo and still finds time to make picture books. His Wildflowers begins in such a mind-boggling manner I wondered what was going on. I felt as if I'd gone to the multiplex to see a PG kid's movie, but accidentally wandered into the the wrong theater to find an action thriller on the screen. It took me a while to catch on to the story. I expect bright kids will catch on sooner than I did. No spoilers here, but this story celebrates the power of play. Wildflowers is perfect tale to read after a day spent outdoors in nature.

Beautiful and Imaginative!
Three little girls are stranded on a desert island. They explore the jungle and discover magical animals and wildflowers that can talk. It even appears to snow in this strange jungle. The girls explore the wildness all around them and the wildness within themselves as well. The only thing that can kill the magic is reality.I actually started crying after reading this book, because it was just that beautiful and sweet! The girls are so imaginative and charming! I love the sisterly camaraderie between them, and the way the older sister takes care of the younger ones.I love the themes about the power of imagination! There are so many positive messages in this book. In a jungle where anything could happen, the plot keeps you guessing about what might pop up next. The art work is absolutely beautiful! The graceful lines invite the reader into a reverie where every scene is whimsical and fun. I love the cute designs of the characters and their expressive faces. Even their body language says something about their personalities. What a complete delight! I wish I could give it 10 stars!Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a free and honest review. All the opinions stated here are my own true thoughts, and are not influenced by anyone.
