Ray, If bar is being mounted to wooden wall studs, hole in tile should be large enough for the fastener to pass through. You want the fastener to pull against the wood & not the tile, which you may break. If mounting with plastic anchors start with a 3/16” bit & perhaps enlarge with a screw driver to achieve a tight fit.
