This is an excellent garage door opener. I am very satisfied with this one because all I had to do is press the reset button on both the remote control and the button on the Craftsman garage door opener. It works perfectly and so unlike the one I sent back that was made in China which was a waste of time.

It's all about choosing the right remote for your opener: look for a colored button--green, red, yellow, or purple. In my case, this worked perfectly with the directions that came with it on the first try!

** Update: After trying several things to get better range on the remote, I discovered that it only seems to be very limited when it's on top of the visor (i.e., in between the visor and the roof of the car). Clipping the remote to the visor the other way -- leaving it fully exposed, buttons facing down to the steering wheel -- seems to have solved the problem. It now works reliably and from the end of the driveway or beyond. Original: The good thing is that, as advertised, they are very simple to program. It took less than a minute to get both remotes working with my 90s-era opener. The bad thing is that they don't seem to work reliably. The range of the remote seems to be unpredictable. My original remote worked from well beyond the driveway, but the new remotes sometimes don't work until I'm right up on the door. Sometimes it takes just one click, other times it takes 3 or 4 clicks to make it do something. I don't know if these remotes are faulty or what, but they are very frustrating to use compared to the originals. I'm looking for alternatives.

This remote works perfectly with the older Craftsman opener (with a green programming button) that came with the home we recently bought. After the remote died, we tried changing the battery in the old remote, several other new openers from stores (Lowe's), and finally taking the opener apart to check the logic board in the opener. Nothing worked. Turns out that it was just a matter of the old remote dying and the newer remotes not being compatible with the older model of opener. The key feature of this remote in our case was it's programmability for older models of Craftsman openers. After all the time I spent trying to solve this problem, this opener worked perfectly in a matter of minutes, after some simple programming steps (included).

I am under the impression these are clones of the original. Yet the quality is exactly the same. They work, just as easily! These are an inexpensive and easy way to provide remotes to family members. Highly recommend. No fear! They work well. Instructions are simple and not difficult to follow. Make sure they are compatible with your Sears or Chamberlain Garage Door opener. These worked perfectly with my Yellow Wire Chamberlain opener. No hic-ups!

Took less than 5 minutes to program from opening package to remote working. Push learn button on garage door unit then push any one of the 3 buttons on remote and it took my opener 5 seconds to connect/program. Very simple/easy process. Works great and highly recommend. Just make sure you check the color of the "learning button" (purple, green, red) and order the correct matching opener.
