These storage containers are the perfect size to store 3D printer filament. As of today I have ordered 24. There are lots of shelving, desicant containers and hygromator models available online specifically for Praki 4L cereal storage containers.

I bought these for 3D filament storage because they are quite a bit cheaper than the containers that are supposedly 'for' that purpose, despite appearing to be identical. And indeed, they are. They don't have a moisture readout but those are rarely accurate anyway. Lids fit tightly and they seem to be a good quality plastic. So far so good!

Depending on your view, it is either fortunate or unfortunate that these cereal containers are likely the best way to store filament long-term for 3D printing. I have investigated many options and have not been able to turn up a better solution that is air-tight without spending a ludicrous amount of $. Acrylic and PC stock are pricey!! Like most, I had mixed/poor results with the vacuum bags (3 different brands). larger storage chests with hermetic seals either end up hard to sort through, hard to accommodate, are opaque, are expensive, or all of the above. These 4L cereal containers fit any standard spool (all the ones I've seen anyway) with room in the bottom for desiccant. You could probably print out a widget that would let you print directly from the containers through a Bowden tube if you were inclined to do so. I use a 2.4x4" fine mesh aquarium filter media bag (Geiserailie) filled with 4A molecular sieve beads (Wiseorb) and indicating colored silica beads in each container (lets you see moisture state at a glance). The clarity of the plastic material (Polypropylene) allows you to easily see the color of the spool stored inside and any writing on it. The manufacturer provides nice stickers to label them and a white ink marker, though I went ahead and bought a pack of nicer markers. They also give you a measuring scoop. I have now bought 84 of these containers to hold various filaments. They are priced pretty fairly, and as far as I can tell, so far, the containers have a 100% success rate of forming an excellent seal. You can also seat them on your typical 2-pipe/2-rod filament storage racks, so it's not like you are buying in to an inflexible system that will prevent you from making changes to your space later. Bought exclusively for storing 18lb bags of dry dog and cat food. They are a nice size, attractive to look at, and wash well in the dishwasher; not the lids but they are a quick wash by hand. So far, they do not seem to hold an odor of the previous contents. If you are looking for well-sealing containers, these are for you. The side seals are easy to open and snap shut but the pour spout cover is not. I've barked my knuckles more than once struggling to get it open; some are looser than others. It has gripping ledge that is hard to get to in order to pull the cover up. I'm trying different techniques to see if I can find one that will let me open it more easily, otherwise, I can't see buying any more of these. I would suggest that if you have arthritis or some other hand issue, you might reconsider. The second negative is that the pour spout lid frequently snaps shut when the container is tilted forward such that I have to hold the lid back. I docked one star because of the difficulty in getting the pouring lid open.

very nice air tight containers. Perfect size for 1K rolls of printer filament. Put a desicant baggy in with it and your filament should stay nice and dry.

These are no-frills air tight containers which fit standard 1KG rolls of 3D printer filament. There are fancier solutions with humidity meters but these work very well.

These are the ultimate filament storage dry box. Easily keeps my filament near single digit humidity, and no more than 15% when I'm printing from the box. Its large enough to accomodate rollers/desiccant box for the spool to rest on, where most of the others I've tried can barely fit the spool. 3D Printing friends, stop drilling holes in these. Use the lid shown in my photos, it is the grail addition to these storage boxes. Google image searching will take you where you need to go. 🤘

Bin vollauf begeistert, das einzige was es noch besser machen wuerde, waere wenn der Deckel von selbst halten wuerde beim ausschuetten. Ansonsten klare Kaufempfehlung, endlich Boxen in die selbst mehrere Cornflakes Packungen ohne Probleme hineinpassen :)

If you're like me and expanding your 3D printing hobby, but didn't want have loads of loose filament lying around, you've probably already come across the idea of using Food storage tubs. I've bought so many trying to find the right ones that will fit full rolls inside and I'm finally happy to report that these ones are absolutely perfect. So good in fact, I bought 18 of them to expand my capacity.

The containers are sturdy, easy to pour from, and seal tightly to keep cereal and pantry items fresh. I like that they are slim enough to fit nicely in my pantry while still holding a full-size cereal box. The included labels, marker, and measuring cup are a nice bonus and make organizing much easier. The lids snap closed securely and the pour spout is convenient for kids and everyday use. Overall, this set helped make my pantry look cleaner. Great value for the price and I would definitely recommend it for storing cereal, flour, sugar, snacks.

I purchased these to store my 1kg spools of Bambu Lab PLA, and honestly I'd have to say they're perfect for it! The fit is Just right with wiggle room for any desiccant I might want to use as well as using any online 3d printed accessories made specifically for this size and shape of container. Overall I highly recommend these as a 3D printing filament drybox
