Great Addition to my Costume Collection - (Pirate, Ren-Faire, Fairy...)
I bought this skirt for a costume I'm creating to wear to a Ren-Fair and I just love it! I saw this same exact skirt and many of the other colors Wevez sells at a Ren-Faire last year but the vendor wanted $80 bucks for her skirts and was not sure if that was a good price or not, so I looked at the tag saw it was by Wevez and found it here on Amazon for half the price. Needless to say I did not buy from the vendor and purchased it online instead.Yes the fabric is thin and I can see where others might have issues with tearing should you be a bit rough in wearing or laundering this item. But this type of skirt is intended for belly dancing, not rodeo riding, so keep that in mind; if you are looking to purchase an every day "wear and tear" type skirt, this may not be for you. Those looking for a fluffy, full skirt for a special occasion or costume dress-up, it's really lovely. You may want to keep in mind that an underskirt or leggings might be needed for modesty in bright light conditions. Also, wearing an underskirt with this on top will also cause this skirt to be even fuller in appearance since the under skirt will keep the "fullness" from hiding between your legs as you walk and move around. Many times when I wear costumes I have multiple underskirts to give the top skirt more definition and shape - that's how the ancestors did it and it still works wonders today. My skirt came tightly twisted and wrapped and I noticed that there was significant possibility of dye transfer with the blue portion of this skirt, so I choose to wash it to eliminate excess dye that might still be on the material. (don't want this to transfer to other clothing items, my hands or items I might sit on while wearing it). I choose not to Dry Clean it, instead I washed the skirt by itself in cold water and placed the skirt inside a super-large netted lingerie bag to avoid strain on the fabric since I wanted to avoid accidental ripping. This process worked great in keeping the skirt from being damaged in the wash. I was shocked at how blue my wash water became so I double rinsed the skirt and ran it through the wash a second time. The was water was still slightly blue but significantly lighter the second time round. I double rinsed agian and removed the skirt from the mesh lingerie bag, shook it out and let it air dry, fluffing it out occasionally as it dried. The colors are still intense and vibrant and there was no shrinkage using this method. The skirt still brushes the tops of my feet, just like it did when first I pulled it out of the package and shook it out.I'm 5'4" tall and wear a size 16 (XL) and it was plenty roomy for me to get it on and off. My waist in a corset is 32" but my hips are 48" and I had no problem getting this skirt up over my hips. I even measured the skirt waist fully stretched and it will clear up to a hip size of 54" and as you bigger girls know our problem is not so much waist size on these skirts but knowing if a skirt will clearing our hips and booty. No problems here on that count. Even though I'm on the short size, I'm short waisted in the trunk but have average length legs. My Pant inseam is 29-30" and my skirt worn at my natural waist (not at my hips) after washing hits me at the top of my feet, the perfect walking length without danger of dragging or stepping on the hem. This would be too long if I tried to wear it on my hips but works great at my natural waist line which is where I want it to be since I'll be wearing a corset over it for my costume. So all in all, I'm thrilled with this addition to my costume collection. I love the bright colors, the fluffy fullness of this skirt, which will be even fuller since I'll be wearing petticoat under skirts with it. The fact that the elasticized/drawstring waist will allow me to wear it through a variety of weight gain/loss scenarios that might happen in the upcoming years is also a win-win.I've included some photos for you to see the skirt I was sent. The first two photos of the skirt hanging were not taken with flash and the color looks a bit muted. The photo on the dummy with the funky belt was taken with a flash and shows the true color of the skirt I was sent. The photo with the brocade over-skirt gives you an idea of what the skirt has the potential to look like as part of a costume with 1 black petticoat under it. I did not want to give you a wrong impression of the skirt by adding too many under layers but normally when I'm in costume I've got lots of under-layers so my skirts are really pop out full. I think I'll be buying a second 25 yard skirt to use as additional petticoat or to double up with this one so I can pull up the sides of the top skirt and have the colors of the second skirt peek out under it - what fun.

Dip dye 25 yard skirt
Fits comfortably at waist, beautiful color of dye. Floats when turning and spinning. Skirt is too long for my height of 5 foot. I tripped and stepped on skirt when dancing.

Dye isn’t set
This is a good skirt with wonderful movement, but the first time I wore it the dye got all over my hands. Because the dye was getting on everything the skirt touched, I decided to wash it (I washed it alone in cold water on the delicate setting). I put it in the dryer for about 10 minutes and dried it on extra low delicate. It stained the whole insides of my dryer with dye. Luckily I was able to clean the dye off with laundry detergent + water but I wasn’t expecting to have to clean my dryer! That seems to have fixed the issue with the dye but it was quite a process.

Great for dancing
I bought this for my belly dancing class skirt dance. I am pleased with the quality of the fabric and the colors are vibrant. It is important yo note that through an hour of dancing, the dark colors will leave behind some stains on your fingers. The stains wash off without too much effort. Because of this and the other reviews I read, I have not washed mine yet for fear of color bleeding and ruining the nice ombré effect it has. I will dry clean it. I’m ok with this as I wear clothes underneath. It’s a great skirt for hat I needed it for and I will wear it to the renaissance fair too. I would buy this again in other colors.

Wash separately
I love this skirt it was exactly what I wanted for the costume I got several compliments on it at my event. I washed it separately before I wore it and then again after the event… I used it as a last minute Halloween costume and my husband washed it with our regular laundry not thinking and everything is stained red! So please wash this item separately to avoid a disaster like I have. Also don’t dry it will shrink in length.

problem with delivery, but super star customer service. Saved the day!
Love the skirt, exactly what I needed for belly dance performance. A true 25 yard skirt. Easy to roll, adjust, and manipulate to what style you’re going for. Full circle with good movement. Not sheer, yet not heavy, nice movement. Very pleased.

It’s so pretty!
I love this skirt! It is a perfect fit—plus-size, all hips and thighs, 5.5 inches tall. It is so flowy and looks like it will hold up to a lot of swooshing and spinning. The color is true to the photo. I can’t wait to dance in it. I had this on my wishlist for so long and finally decided to pull the trigger and buy it. I’m so glad I did. I may buy another one, I just need to decide on a color.

As advertised
The skirt is as vivid as the photos. It is as advertised . The length was perfect. The inner slip closest to the skin was fine. However the outer layer was a bit stiff at first but after a wash and detergent it was soft to the touch. The material is sturdy and it fit well.

Beautiful skirt
A wonderful skirt, very full. Needs something under it, as it's not completely opaque. So far I have washed it once on a 30 degree cycle with black items. It has faded slightly, especially the burgundy dye., so I would avoid washing it more than you have to (of course, if you are a millionaire you could try dry cleaning it like the label suggests!) However, it certainly isn't ruined completely by washing it. Fits just about anyone: very comfortable on me (UK size 22) and I reckon the waistband could probably stretch to another 6 inches, at least. Very flared right from the waistband, so unlike some 'one size' skirts it isn't tight on your belly if you are plus size. I'm 5'4" and it's just above my ankles when worn at my natural waist.

Perfecta

A true gypsy dance skirt
I got this when they were on sale and wouldn't buy at it's current price. However, the quality, comfort and fit of this skirt is superb and it's beautifully packaged on arrival.. The fabric is a little too stiff before washing and a little too sheer to wear without leggings. Having said all that, it's a truly spectacular garment and highly recommend any of these skirts.

Great skirt at a great price
The picture doesn't do this skirt justice. It's much richer and darker in color. I love the color. The package arrived much earlier than expected, in time for the beginning of ATS classes. This skirt will be perfect.

Its not see through! Pure cotton.
Gorgeous floaty cotton skirt. Colours are so deep and vibrant. Make sure to wash with some salt for first time & wash alone or you will dye the other clothes pink (speaking from experience lol)
