It's the only thing that really works -- but be PATIENT!
I developed a keloid scar in the middle of my chest in the early 1970s. Since then I've had surgery, radiation and countless cortisone injections, mostly to no avail. Then about 35 years ago a dermatologist turned me on to "Silastic" gel, which I (laboriously) applied for months at a time. The problem was that the material was thick and relatively inflexible, didn't conform well to the scar, and was frankly a pain to apply and keep applied.Happily though, unlike all of the other treatments, the gel had a real beneficial effect, and over the span of several months brought me to a point I was reasonably happy with.I thought I was done, but sadly over the past decade or so, one part of it started to re-grow (no it's NOT cancer). The thought of shaving, constant cleaning, specialty tapes etc. was just not appealing. Enter this product, a silicon gel sheet with fabric back that is self-adhesive, forgiving of motion, thin profile and easy to apply. And, not incidentally, works just like the gel of yore.In short, I'm back treating the final vestige of the scar, with promising results and none of the hassle. Yes, it works VERY slowly, but so what? I can wait, and with this stuff, it's no big deal. Most of the time I can't even tell it's there.Wish this had been available back then!

Keeps you covered
I recently had a double mastectomy (woohoo top surgery!) and I purchased these here because they are impossible to find in brick and mortar stores. Initially I was worried because I'd seen other reviews state that they were more prone to peel on the sides than other ScarAway strips and were made with different material. Dunno if they got a bad batch or what... but I'm here to say that nope, having gone through two boxes of the usual-size ScarAway, these are actually less prone to peel on the sides than having to use seven and a half small strips on my incision scars. They're much simpler to clean and put on, and they feel exactly as comfortable as the sets I purchased in the store, both on the sticky silicone side and the fabric side.If you've got a large surgical wound or two that needs dressing, these are a freaking lifesaver. As to how well they work, it's too early to tell, unfortunately. My only quibble is that all the strips say they'll last you for up to two weeks, which is a total lie as far as I know. I've tried washing them daily, every other day, in cold water, in hot water, in warm water, whatever, and they all last about a week for me regardless -- but I'd still way rather use these ones than any of the other scar treatment options around!

Work well, don’t stick very long.
These are very comfortable to wear and make my 5 inch scar even feel better. My only complaint is there’s no way they stick for 2 weeks. I am cleaning them like advised and allowing them to dry on the included plastic strip and they are probably only lasting about a week at most. Still like them for what they are though just wish the boxes written expectation matched reality.

Love the flexibility!
I switched to this after using another silicone treatment that must be kept on for almost two weeks straight. I was going on vacation and love the flexibility to take it off and putting it back on after swimming. My scar is 8 weeks old and is still very tender and feel protected with the strips on. It s little tricky to get off the plastic to apply but keep in Mind it’s reusable for up to 14 days and you can definitely unroll the edges with no problem and it works well after! I’m very happy with flexibility of this product. the UPF factor would be a plus! I just feel my scar is protected with and covered.

OK, But Not Great
I can't really speak to if these things work to reduce the feel and appearance of scars, but not sure I will get to that point without buying multiple boxes of these strips.I had surgery almost two years ago that left me with a long, partially hypertrophic scar that hasn't improved. I asked my doctor about improving it's appearance, and he recommended silicon strips, as time wasn't really doing much to improve the scar. He did say that I should temper my expectations since it has been so long, but did mention that he'd expect some improvement. So I bought a box of the long ScarAway strips.I've been using them for just over a week, and the scar appears to be getting a bit better. It's slightly softer and less pink...I guess. Difficult to really tell after only 8 days. With that said, I'm afraid that I won't really see the benefits of these without buying multiple boxes. Each box claims to have a 3 month supply (6 strips) and states that initial results could be seen in 6-8 weeks, but 3 months or more of use should be completed for best results. Each strip is said to last 14 days, but I don't find that to be the case. After just 5 days of use, my first strip began to lose it's adhesive capability (even though I follow directions to a 'T' and wash it with non-moisturizing soap daily and let it dry completely). I'm still using it, but the edges have started to roll and if I bend/move, it's not a surprise for it to come unstuck from my scar, forcing me to re-smooth it down. I doubt this current strip will last more than 1 more day. At that rate, I have about a 7-8 week supply...which is at the low end of the 'result' expectations.Whether I buy another box is up in the air, as I guess it depends how much of a change I see after I finish this box. Just disappointed that the box claims a 'full' treatment cycle of use, but in reality it seems like the strips will limp over the halfway point due to how quickly they lose their adhesion. I'll update this review further down the road with results (or lack thereof).7 Week Update: I'm on my 4th strip and its week 7, and the results so far have been...alright. My claims above stand, as you really need to baby the strips for them to last longer than 10 days or so. The color of my scar is a bit better (but nowhere near skin color/normal), but the size of the scar is basically the same. In some spots where the scar was already relatively healed, those spots have seen the most improvement in both color and appearance. But, even then, the difference was slight. The main benefit I've had from wearing the strips is the scar tissue is definitely softer and not as stiff. That helps a bit with movement and tightness. Overall though, the strips aren't really doing much else. I'll continue to wear them until the box is done, and I'll update if anything drastically changes, but I don't think that will be necessary. My real rating is probably 2.5 stars, but I'll maintain the 3-star review since they do provide some benefit.
