This is true of all ink cartridges where you get an inexpensive printer and then you pay out the nose for the check cartridges or laser jet. I don't have the money for laserjet, so these are what I buy in the extra large, and I make sure that I get the colors as light as I can while still being effective for me because I mainly use it for yoga exercises that I put in a binder so that I can go through the binder and do my daily rehab. I've done yoga since 1990, (I'm 63; but I had a stroke 2 years ago this november), so I definitely need the binder images, and these inkjet cartridges serve my needs.

Best ink cartridge

Anyone who currently has (or has had) an HP Inkjet Printer/Scanner knows how annoying this purchase is. I can think of hundreds of things I would rather buy with the $95 I just spent on name-brand HP Black XL and Color XL Inkjet cartridges. HP's "Dynamic Security" prevents us from using third-party ink with HP printers. Those of us who thought we had landed on the bargain of the century when we purchased knock-off ink cartridges that note "HP compatible" on Amazon (or similar) have learned the hard way that nothing but actual HP inkjet cartridges will work (per HP design). HP began banning unauthorized printer ink in 2016 with a firmware update that prevented third-party ink from being used. And they have the nerve and the audacity to say they do this "to protect the quality of the customer experience." Most HP printers are relatively inexpensive (or can be), and after spending a lot on elaborate printers with all the bells and whistles, I returned to a basic HP Printer/Scanner I picked up at a Black Friday sale a couple of years ago. Dirt cheap, but the ink cartridges run about $100. Some techies have found ways to bypass HP's inkjet cartridge protection, and it's worth looking into. But in the interim, we are all forced to buy ridiculously expensive inkjet cartridges if we intend to print anything on an HP Printer.

No doubt this is a good quality ink cartridge but like all ink cartridges, it’s over-priced. … but that’s where the manufacturers get you when they sell you a printer. No rocket science here.

These were easy to put in, semi reasonable in price and work great!

Lasts lot longer, less cartridges to get rid of, store or keep replacing, although initially more expensive upfront than the smaller single ink. However, recently bought this and the cost was split into smaller, varied, mutiple charges, for just one ink by Amazon, creating lot of confusion, even contacted Customer Service to figure this out. A simple purchase, became too involved and it should not have been that way, it's only ink. Not sure why the ink was divided up that way in cost and might go back to buying in-store to make life simple.
